  • Palom and Porom...really? might as well go with the mysidia theme is of just as strange of taste, no offense.

  • No love for;

    Killer instinct-main theme

    Chrono trigger-to far away times

    Final fantasy iv-zeromus battle

    Battletoads-dark tower

Sorry,I can go on and on.I respect the effort though

  • lol palom and porom? lol:) i like that lol.

lol i bought the 7th saga just out curiosity. its a fun game! sad though i never got to far in it lol. id get stuck alot. my favorite song.... ORACLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 awesome lol

  • Well I guess people wont learn that it isnt FF2-3. Its Final Fantasy 4-6 !!

  • Learn? we know damn well its 4 and 6 in japan, but here in america circa 1994 its FF2 mofo!

  • Relms song? Whaaaat? What about the Decisive Battle? Or The Fierce Battle, or for the GBA port, Fight to the Death? Ugh....still acceptable i guess

  • TADPOLES??!!??!!

ok, I can live with that.

  • i wouldve picked a diff FF2 song but still good list

  • Woo! Chrono Trigger :D

  • do ppl just hate FF3 <.<

  • Listen to my top 10 :)

  • No Megaman music? Such a shame ;(

  • mega man music was better on the NES rather than the SNES

  • Awesome choice man, I love the Brinstar theme, it's so haunting.

  • Is it me or does Secret Of Mana sound (At the begining) a little like MIA - Boys?

  • What was the very first song? When you were doing your intro? I loved that!

  • It's from Turtles in Time (the sever stage)

  • Glad you liked it, the person who already replied to you was right. According to the soundtrack on my PC, the song is called "Sewer Surfin'"

The rest of that game has similar, great music. If you haven't played Turtles in Time on SNES you should. :D

  • Awesome! Thanks guys! I've gotta get that game!

Also, where could I get the mp3 for this song?

    Thanks again.

  • Turtles in Time rocks definitely. The Arcade version has better music but the SNES one had better gameplay with a new level (the Cyber racing one) and boss (The Sewer King)

  • ... And I hate that boss xD

But yeah, Turtles in Time is one of the best games on SNES, it's a must-play

  • 5 effing 5 for Fillmore from Actraiser alone! God that game rocked! Overall this list kicks ass!

  • act raiser nice..i wish someone would put up the soul blazer songs on here though (ode to lisa specifically)

  • man, what a rip, LoZ:ALLTP - Dark World should be #1

  • CT soundtrack is really good.. but ok.. chrono cross soundtrack (playstation1) was even better. Chrono Cross soundtrack imho is the best soundtrack ever made for any game.

  • I'd have to disagree with you and say that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has the best soundtrack ever

  • IMO your absolutely fucking wrong, it's nothing good, the only soundtrack i like in SSMB is the opening/chars theme

  • You mean Brawl?

Because it is commonly typed SSBB... And how can you say that it's nothing good? It's got almost 300 tracks! and most of them are masterpieces

  • Nono! I Meant SSBB and I meant that chrono trigger soundtrack is wayyyyy better than SSBB

  • FUCK HALO

  • EarthBound, one of the very best game EVER MADE PERIOD.

  • yes. EB has awesome music. Although I've always found ff2's/ff4's music creepily beautiful... and celtic.

  • i reckon the fight with the mana beast is the best song in SoM but then again its the best snes game ever so every song in its gd =]

  • yikes, Relm's theme - i always thought that t be among the worst FFVI tracks! (no offense)

  • Which only shows how badass the FFVI soundtrack really is. I personally enjoyed Cyan's Theme and Terra's Theme.

  • are you serious? i know it's just opinion, but relm's theme is one of the best tracks on the game.

  • if i made a video like this it would be hard to pick a song from secret of mana because i like all the songs so i would be thinking alot

  • Palom and Porom ftw!

  • I also agree with quadracer, the CT soundtrack is just shy of 70 tracks. It's tough enough to chisel down to 10 of those.

  • Nice list, I thought TBB would have included this CT track instead. BTW, it's called Corridors of Time. The Zeal Palace theme is not nearly as good.

  • I do love the Zeal theme in Chrono Trigger. As a matter of fact, that whole section of the game is fantastic...

  • Couldn't agree with you more. So surreal and beautiful.

  • It would be hard for me to pick my 10 favorite Chrono Trigger songs let alone all the other soundtracks from all the other awesome games

  • Man you made me cry here... These times don't come back anymore... *sob*

  • You win for having "Palom and Porom" on here. Greatest song on FFII/IV

  • Actraiser had such an amazing sountrack as I look back on it.

And that Chrono Trigger song was so creepy sometimes when it would play randomly.

  • Secret of mana is my best snes rpg i love the music my favorite song is what the forest taught me

  • the only nice song on ur top 10 is the relm's theme song ^^

  • Totally disagree man. It's actually quite difficult to find really bad songs from any of the games he listed. I think I might make a list of this too!

  • hmmmm...true ^^

  • earthbound music is SO weird, but so great!

  • Long live SNES music! :P

  • Gradius 3 has great tunes.

  • wow, great selection

I especially loved the Earthbound song

    I LOVE THAT GAME

I'm so glad someone loves the SNES about as much as I do

    well, not as much

and I semi agree with lothrazar

I mean, FF2 and FF3? how can you beat either...it's very hard

  • You're questioning my love of the SNES against yours?

*challenges you to a duel* :P

  • it is a duel you say?

*pulls out masamune from Chrono Trigger*

bring it on, my sword can cut through magical rock

    =)

  • Ha! :D

Hey, I'll take your word for it that you're a fellow hard-core SNES lover. Truce?

  • I can agree to such terms

    *sheaths*

btw, I love the Turtles in Time music reference in the beginning credits

    LOVE that game

it owned my life when I was a mere child

  • @Napstrpsx canyon

  • Final fantasy 2 has better music in my opinion, though the song is very unique. Zeal theme from CT is legendary, i cant decide between that and memories of green. Also Relm's theme, good choice, i probably would ahve chosen the celes opera theme though, or terra's theme. and secret of mana i prefer title screen or one of the early forest themes. great video.

  • Insightful comment. You know, the more I think about it, the more I think I just kind of put on whatever was speaking to me at the time. Although, for some reason I've always like the Palom/Porom theme.

The opera theme is incredible, but I think Relm's is just so beautiful and just the way begins, I love it. I decided to end with that Oracle song because it had a lot of kick to it.

The Zeal theme is incredible, that whole section of the game was terrific and sort of surreal.

  • FUCKER STOLE MY METROID BRINSTAR!!!!!!!!!

Thats okay!! I'm gonna put it in mine anyway!

Sick choices, Love the FFIV. OMG The 7th Saga was a bitch of a game! NICE. CHRONO!!!!!!!! absolutely. What a fuddy duddy.

    GOOD CHOICES

  • Damn right you ended with a Secret of Mana tune!

  • Play Tales of Phantasia. Their music are so great n_n.

Nice video 5/5. Bring me memories... ToT

    Good job =)

  • dude every single one of the games u chose had much better songs. ppl need to know.

  • I think that Chrono Trigger song might be my favorite song on the SNES. <3 it.

  • Very nice choices, dude. This is definitely a very unique list. And ya, the SNES definitely had the best music... but then again, I think it also had the best games. It was the highest point of gaming history. The Golden Age.

  • I totally agree. Graphics, audio, capabilities, and quantity has gone up since the 90's, but the fun factor really hasn't. I would say that without question the SNES was the golden age for console RPG's.

I believe the SNES was good because it had good enough graphics that it wasn't being held back from the severe limitations of 8-bit graphics and 2-button schemes, but not too advanced that it sidetracked developers' attention from keeping gameplay top-notch.
