Thanks Asif for your explanation. Although I don't speak Hindi but my family is full of Hindi movie buffs so Hindi is somewhat familiar to me. I've always thought that if I ever heard Urdu I would recognise it but I guess I'm wrong : ) I had an Indian Muslim family as neighbours once and the mother came from Uttar Pradesh. I always thought they were speaking Urdu but their language didn't sound like the Urdu in your video. Maybe Urdu has variations too ?
Thanks for posting this video. Istiqlal is indeed a beautiful mosque, befitting the title of Indonesia as the most populous Muslim country ( though sadly still secular ). BTW, what's the language used in the narrative. I see you come from Karachi but is this Urdu ? I thought Urdu sounds a lot like Hindi but this doesn't sound Hindi. Anyway, thanks.
Thanks for your feedback. Yeah its in Urdu, and Urdu is very much similar to Hindi, only the script is different. In urdu we use arabic script, whereas in hindi, Sansakrit script is followed.
Why it sounds lil different from hindi because its in pure urdu, otherwise if you understand hindi movie then u may understand urdu too. In pure urdu we use more arabic and persian words, similarly in pure hindi, they use more old Sansakrit words.
A great mosque designed by a Christian Architect Frederich Silaban and as a Muslim I see how much tolerant Islam is. Mash Allah.
