There should be a channel created for shows that lasted only one season or less. This show along with others like My Mother the Car and American Girls would certainly fit into that genre.
This show regularly turns up in lists of the worst TV shows ever. Starring Nancy Walker from "MacMillan & Wife," it didn't have any real beauties, wasn't funny, wasn't dramatic and cost a lot of executives at ABC their job. Pat Morita never talked about the show after it was canceled. Scott Baio never mentions it (in hindsight, the failure that was "Joanie Loves Chachi" was merciful in making people forget this wreck called "Blansky").
I can't remember that show. The spin-off to Happy Days. But the theme song: "I wanted all" is an exciting song. I'm positive that I will turn my life around with a new job and pay my debts down. I plan to visit Las Vegas when the time comes. Vegas will receive a visit from The Man In The Hat.
i hada huge crush on caren kaye i can remember those days when my family and i would gather round on tuesdays to watch happy days and laverne and shirley and mork and mindy ..the days were simpler the music was better ..families got together there wasent so much complexity and so much information....it was a time when people were just a little nicer to each other....gary marshall was brilliant ..remember he also did the odd couple amogst other shows as well..
This is one of those rumored shows I suspected didn't ever really exist, like ME AND THE CHIMP or THE SAN PEDRO BEACH BUMS, but here it is, an unholy alliance of leftovers and/or yet-to-be's from MARY TYLER MOORE, LAVERNE & SHIRLEY, and HAPPY DAYS. This must be what they meant in the '70s by a "jiggle show," as in nobody tuned in to see Chachi play the drums. Actually, I guess nobody tuned in period. Sorry, Nancy, it's back to shilling for Bounty, the quicker picker-upper!.
It's a reminder of a Las Vegas that no longer exists, not as many showgirls these days. I watched it because of the gals. Sure it's all about the money.
Vegas with Robert Urich was a better show with the same kind of setting.
When I got up this morning if you had said to me, "By the end of the day, you will see Pat Morita getting humped by a dog," I would have thought you mad. But here it is.
This is from Garry Marshall's cornball side (that brought us jumping the shark, Laverne and Shirley go to California, etc.), to be sure, but it has a charm to it. Nancy Walker makes the most of any role, and I like some of the other characters.
Question: was an actual Vegas casino "playing" the Oasis at any time?
@discoparkinglot I hate to say it since I like Nancy Walker, but it just doesn't look like it was a very good show. Not every show gets it right. It happens.
