@richem1961 - Motors are supposed to rev. It's what they do on a daily basis...and if it isnt regularly driven to redline and tuned for that condition, it *will* blow up when you do.

That said...rad truck, dude. I have a 7m in my 89 Supra; best, most bulletproof thing ever. Only thing I'd get rid of it for would be a high-compression single-turbo 2jz running e85...and then the 7m would go in another Supra. :)

um no.... power band is 3.5-5.5k rpms redline is 6.5 and 6.25k rpms depending on the crank (6 or 7m)

all 2jz engines use the same parts . except one is n/a and other turbo . unless the v.v.t.i. or whatever it is uses a different cam then a non v.v.t.i. 2j ... ??? IDK

i was going to post that but i didnt want to offend anyone . the is300 has a 2j , n/a , 215 hp 218 tq . now thats at the flywheel not at the ground . so deduct 20 % due to drivetrain loss ... so it has around 170 whp 175 wtq . or 57 hp per liter of displacement .... weak

nothing wrong with 7m's lets face it a head gasket change is not a big deal and they are very easy to get parts for, and as for only having 10bhp more than a 2jzge, yes at 5psi but you can run them at 10 psi from standerd by just shimming the actuator

That engine is not built for that use... you are an idiot. That motor is meant to be trashed on and this is an awesome build. This motor is clean and has probably had the block checked before he beats the crap out of it. Why can't you people just be happy to be able to do what you want with your vehicles?

excuse me , 7mgte have more bottom end torque and hp than any other supra engine. he have similar weight than stock v6. i have 250hp and 325lbs of torque at 2700rpm and the engine dont go over 6700rpm i run this engine from 5 week ago with no problem, and tranny are bullet proof. i race the truck few time a week, and i love it.

Get a hood scoop with a cowl underneath to direct air directly to the intercooler. This is how it is done in Impreza WRX STI's and it seems to work fine. The only drawback is hood scoops aren't very appealing, but they can be useful.

My freind has a 7m in his 88 so fast even at 9 psi. He is redoing the head (bhg). Has the worst axle wrap ever ha. He has a r154 in it right now but puuting the v6 tranny back on so he can have 4wd. what year is this truck? He has a powerstoke intercooler with full 3'' piping and no exhuast with a 3'' elbow. He is the mk3 lsd in rear and has a mk2 lsd for frount will be sick.
