The context of this scene:

Akasha (impersonated by the dead in 2002 actress, from a plane accident, R&B signer/model "Aaliyah") is a 6000 yrs old Egyptian queen. She was waken up by Lestat, a French 200 yrs old vampire, made by Marius, another older vampire, and she is going into a bar full of "young" vampires who wish to destroy Lestat because he is a rock star revealing the secret nature of the vampires.
