There has not been any time in Boston music history to rival the period from 77- 87 a shitpile of innovative and awesome live bands. The Hoods,The Lyres,HSR,Mission of Burma, Scruffy, Treat her Right, Morphine, The Atlantics, you could go on forever, so many different styles, but all kick ass in their own right. I would not trade growing up at that time and seeing all these great bands for anything

Their shows were so intense, you'd dance so hard it drove the air out of your lungs. One of the best punk acts ever... Peter Dayton was so amazing with that SG guitar. A killer trio

my crew went to see the real kids @ cantone's around may '78 on a slow night. the band started abusing us for looking so bored. "what the fuck do you wanna hear?", the lead singer asked. LA PESTE!!! we screamed. he spat at us! lmfao!!! la peste rule. end of story.
