I had a Swiss Gear laptop bag like this for almost 6 years. The metal tube was coming out of the bottom, and the seams at the top were starting to come undone. I took some pictures of the damage and sent them to customer service with the code on the tag and for $10 (shipping) they sent me this synergy bag as a replacement (because mine was out of production). They told me to dispose of the one falling apart which i absolutely will not do. Warranty's should be taken advantage of more often...

is this a good bag for college students who need to take a laptop

it depends.The construction of the bag is great very sturdy and stitching is great too.I would put the lap top in a sleeve then put it in 4 more protection. Theres a ton of room 4 books but it can get bulky personally I don't mind that.If you get it I don't think you will be too upset lol, just keep in mind it depends on your work load and the amount of books binders ect that you will be carrying everyday.But I like it and it's done me good with any situation that I've used it in.
