@ibbigs-you're a liar. Leeward was unconscious due to g-force induced loss of consciousness, as hundreds of photographs show. He wasn't even visible in the cock pit in those photos, yet you say you saw him, even though every one "behind" the impact was looking at the belly of the aircraft.
Who was flying the yellow L-39 #54? Whoever it is needs a very strong talking to about his lack of ability on the course. He cut off so many planes down the chute on Thurs. it wasn't even funny.
@ibbiggs I have never been to this air race and didn't even know about it, thought there was no more air racing I am really proud of you guys in Reno keeping it alive, don't let them take it away because a freak accident happens. I live in Wisconsin and go to the Oshkash air show every year, it is cool but no where near as awesome as this air race. I did a lot of research on this air show/ air race sense the accident and it appears to be the best in the country and possible the world.
This is the best air show in america. We need to do what ever it takes to keep it that way. And prevent the nanny state government from trying to regulate it or ban it in any way. Air Racing is an American tradition and was the first thing aircraft where ever specifically designed for. There used to be more then five different races in American now there is only one left. We where racing planes before we where racing cars.
Great job!!

I was about 15 feet behind the ghost when she went in; I could see him fighting that plane for all he was worth to get away from the crowd.
