Gregg Easterbrook put it in perspective on Reuters this morning. What a sham! But what else would anyone conclude with the current Marxist in Chief? Is it me, or did left lambaste Petraeus back in 07 and call him names? Not to mention the fact that McChrystal was actually in agreement with Obama's policy on Afghanistan. Petraeus is a man who has gotten results. McChristal had great success in Iraq but our effort is hurting in Afghanistan under his leadership. The ROE need to be changed and hopefully Petraeus will make the needed changes and get results despite the withdrawal timetable looming which itself hurts our effort.

Not an Obama fan to say the least and think he is a disaster as CinC but McChrystal was wrong and should have been allowed to step down or be relieved which he did. Even a former enlisted man like myself knows that what was being said out in the open, without correction, about the civilian chain of command by the General's staff was unacceptable and a sign of a poor command climate. The POTUS also needs to take a look at getting rid of Eikenberry.

@MadSmokerBBQ I get your sarcasm and I even appreciate it since I do agree with you somewhat but I still think that as a commander his actions were somewhat irresponsible. i can't judge him or his actions since I have no authority to do so, I have never been in his shoes and know nothing of what it really is to being a general. But if he actually meant everything he said in that article then why apologize for your own opinions and beliefs two days later.
