  • Feel more confident in my reading already!!!

  • great tips , thanks :3

  • I speed read this video

  • Thank you soo much for this supporting material....i believe it works for me ...

  • Great!! I would like to be faster. So, I would take your advice and say : " if you try to be more flexible, faster and more accurate, you will be very comfortable and often get success !! ". Too, don't forget specially in exams; More focus=High marks.

    ___Thank You____

  • PS. Almost nobody reads 600wpm. Most people read at about the speed they talk, which is 150wpm. The average reader reads between 125 and 200wpm. Very few read above 250wpm without special training.

I'm in serious doubt about your qualifications.

  • @bluecafe69

You obviously don't read a lot.

I read a lot, and like others, i'm used to reading.

I can read about 800wpm, my technique is to read through a chapter, if i don't understand something; i go back and read it again.

  • @TehGameDude

I've read enough to know that virtually nobody without training reads over 250wpm (that's the extreme high end). If somebody tells you they read 800wpm, they are likely lying or haven't accurately timed themselves. I have multiple books on speed reading and have the programs EyeQ and Speed Reader. According to EyeQ I read 311wpm (and getting faster).

I suggest you read "Triple Your Reading Speed" (or the reviews on Amazon). ... I think you maybe be confused.

  • @bluecafe69

I don't know really, i've read all my life.

  • I'd agree with TehgameDude here. depending on what language I read in, I can read at 500 to 700 wpm. on very good technique, but very hard to learn, is to not read to yourself, my "inner voice" as I'd call it, can't keep up, so unless I get rid of it, I'm limited at 400wpm. another one is to read as far ahead as you can of what you're processing. it's a very interesting exercise, and mentally draining.

  • "Triple your Reading Speed" book explicitly says not to use your finger or anything under what you're reading, and describes it as a crutch. I agree though, going back is a big time consumer.

  • boooooooring!!!!!

  • see my video for the real approach to reading ANYTHING.

  • Start at 2:57 :)

  • Might be silly of me, and please don't think that I'm trying to discredit you, but isn't this "technique" just skimming through a page?

  • Protip: Starts at 2:45

  • @GBLAX19 you can try to picture what you are reading, and imagine it happening while you read.. Often an image would speak very clearly to you and help you understand better.. But remember, don't let the image get in the way of your reading; put it in your subconscious mind..

  • to be honest, i am more worried about taking in the information and reading quickly at the same time. ive tried this method for a while now, and my reading speed has increased a lot, but im not quite comprehending the information like i want to be. is there anything else i could possibly do?

  • IT HELPEd !!!

  • I've taken Evelyn Wood's course and my reading is up to 500-600 wpm. Do NOT subvocalize, push yourself, but when you are actually immersed, you will notice a BIG difference...

  • I can read a lot faster after first trying it however I don't think i fully grasping what each paragraph says

  • @WhaledBeach Comprehension usually comes after. Just concentrate on doing it quickly then after a while you should be able to understand it after some practice.

  • dude this actually works.

  • I used this FOR SPARKNOTES......CHAMPION!

  • We probably read a little quicker than 260 WPM?! Are you kidding? I read 184 WPM. I only wish I could read that quickly. If I was that fast, why would I be looking at how to speed read?

260 WPM is already 10 WPM above average .-.

  • should i be saying the words in my head. i seems like if i want to read this fast, then saying the words is not the way to go. help me

  • I just don't understand the shit, because I am deaf. You retard, didn't put cc with it.

  • even for me who english is a second language it turns very helpful thanks

  • i hate youuur voice brrrr

  • I think the Quick Reader app is better. Is there a speed reading tool like Quick Reader for google chrome??

  • jg

  • I can't stop re-reading. Every other sentence. I'm out of control!

  • So I take my finger and place it on the 3 word, in the start and the end, of a line?

  • wwwgrapplefruitscomprocesshtml

  • wwwngrapplefruits com process html

  • Should I be sounding the words out in my head?

  • hi_ãný_gûYs_wÀNt_tØ_chÄt_wÏth_më

  • @AngeliiTamekaan416 lol, just be quiet. this is about speed reading

  • Thanks for this. I wasn't sure what other sites were trying to tell me by saying to focus on a dot, keep my eyes still, then read out of my peripheral vision. I couldn't do it! But I think I could train myself to if I start with this technique and work my way inward.

  • Speed reading- the very easy way?

Are you kidding me? Speed-reading is a skill that takes months to master. It takes sheer dogged determination to achieve the skill. Just dont be a pussy when it comes to learning new skills. Grow some balls.

  • @The3nlightened0ne No it doesn't. You just suck.

  • @iPodTouchTapp

With 95% comprehension on Shakespearean literature, I speed read at about 1200 wpm.

Trust me, speed reading does not suck. Unrealistic people think speed reading is skimming, I call bullshit. Speed reading raises comprehension and efficiency.

    That's an absolute fact.

  • @The3nlightened0ne Did I ever say speed reading sucks? I do 'believe' in speed reading.

2: Congratulations on your Shakespearean literature shit, I'm sure that will come in handy, sir.

  • @iPodTouchTapp

"Shakespearean literature" is just an example since its text is greater in difficulty compared to 95% of other fields of knowledge out there.

Now majoring in Neuroscience, it's pretty challenging course with advanced biology, molecular chemistry, and advanced calculus, and I have to tell you that speed reading reduced my learning sessions from 4 hrs a day to only 30-40 min a day!

A 4.0 gpa with less effort feels beautiful, kiddo.

    Speed reading is totally brilliant.

  • @The3nlightened0ne Hi there, what was most helpful to you for improving your reading speed? Do you have any suggestion? I am a graduate student trying to improve my reading speed. I'd greatly appreciate your guidance. Sincerely.

  • @iPodTouchTapp i think you suck

  • dear i got ur tip and will try tonight and plz plz plz help me in reading test i m much much upset abt my reading task can u help me

  • thank u very much. it really helps

  • I used your technique and i am now in the special needs class. Thanks asshole!

  • How visual attention works, fails, and leads to dyslexia (and what to do about it!)

SEARCH "Dr. Laurie Cestnick" "Harvard University" or "Cestnick" "Dyslexia" on YOUTUBE for video. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

  • Good Exercise....

  • Good Exercise....

  • do you have any info on how to scam simple folks?

  • Garbage

  • wow im reading WAYYYY faster

  • it looks like a very workin technique..i m surely gonna practice it..thanks bro for the asset

  • good way for practice

  • Dohh... you increase your speed because by the time you end your practice you pretty much know the text word for word.

Idiot people believing this crap works...

  • FUCK dont be on fire, you fucking blew my speakers

  • நீ என்ன செய்கிறாய்?

  • in 7 days? i have a method that works from first shot ok here it is:

read every third word, and the rest just take a look at them believe it or not you will memorize them and will be able to understand what are you reading ;)

  • The problem is, after I've read a text with this technique, I remember almost nothing at all...

  • Yes, the guy is really confusing, Thanks for the intention to help But the way how he explains..I can help him how to expresss ideas and how the brain works for reading!

  • im still confused so is it you find the 3rd word on the left and read all the words between the 3rd word on the left and the 3rd one on the right or is it you just look at the 2 words on each line

  • Thank you for the great video and the great web page. They are really helped

  • there is a difference between reading and browsing , all sr courses are about browsing . you'll never know what you read if you speed . try running through a museum see how much art appreciation you get.

  • I have the problem that if I don't say the words in my head, I can't recall anything meaningful. maybe this is down to practice?

  • @yousurfer2

Maybe pretend you´re a deaf person who can´t get any meaning from anything auditory anyway, and just try to visualize or conceptualize in some other manner the words without saying them in your head.

You´ll probably read slower to begin with, but perhaps you will increase both speed and comprehension in the long run. Dunno. Just practise...

  • Focusing on the third words has been helpful. Thanks for making this video.

  • I guess I'll try it.

  • Dood. Reading 3rd word in from the left and right works so well. : D

  • I just blink at every word as my eye seea it and the start blinking faster and faster till i get the strobe light effect and the traing of words become my train of thought because the words are like moving in 3 D to me,.

  • Comment removed

  • How to get all the content of the text with skipping words ? How to decide what is important and what not ?

  • hmm....i dont completely understand this...should we look at the 3rd word from the left and then drag our eyes to look at the 3rd word from the right or are we suppose to simultaneously look at both the words??

  • Great question - sorry for the delay in responding. You look at the word (3 in from the left) then scan across the page until you see the 3 word from the right. It takes practice to make this feel comfortable.

  • @TheInfoExpert What is the distance that you are supposed to have between you and the text? Is there a ratio for text size to distance?

  • @TheInfoExpert

    Word shit Knaw' mean

Yo Reading iz Good shit Homie knah' mean? Word nah' mean, You kno That reading shit nah' mean, Its Hard son, yo Word nah' mean, Especially When them Bookz Be nah' mean, Real thick an Shit, nah' mean, Word Nigga nah' mean? Wit Dem curvey letters u feel me,Nah'mean Damn this iz Crazy

  • Wow, this actually really helped! I read a page and a half 150% faster with this technique than I usually would! Thank you for posting!

  • dont get it..

  • @mikjab14 Start off slow, then go faster as you get the hang of it. It's all about eye coodination.

  • Thanks for this tip, not heard of it before.

  • 9001 wpm right here dawg! XD

  • That's impossible, 9000 WPM is 150 WPS.

  • i know, im bad, your not.

  • @MrUnicyclist10

    OVER 9000!

  • WHAT? 9000?!?!?!?!?

  • I use this technique but differently cuz i dont use my peripheral vision (its annoying). I skip unimportant words, use the aeiou trick and use a pacer it helps me to read alot faster. right now i read close to 500wpm.....

  • it did not work for me!!!!!!!!!!

  • cool :)

  • 1.5 thousand wpm

  • sparknotes ftw!

  • The finger techniech is annoying if you have a paperback book and you don't want to bend the spine.

    I read about 160 WPM - 540 WPM.

  • the tips on this post are amazing!

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks!

  • What is the point of running your finger across the entire line when all you're trying to do is focusing on two words per line? Wouldn't it make more sense to just point to just those words to help fixation?

  • that's what i do and it works fine

  • thanks, the third method is absolutely innovative. At least I do think so! thanks once again

  • 200 WPM

  • Thanks for the comments. You are correct, it does take time and practice, good point. I will be making a few more videos and I will drive that point home.

  • @TheInfoExpert spreeder is a good site to learn speedreading aswell :)

  • It realy works but you need time to practice it. Myself speed goes from 170WPM to 340WPM.

  • great, thank you so much for taking the time to make this.
