The British 50p and 20p coins are Reuleaux heptagons. This is because the curved sides of Reuleaux shapes make them the only shapes other than circles that have the same width all the way around, so vending machines can recognise them. This also means they can roll, and be used as manhole covers that cannot fall into the hole.

That is stupid, the only reason it is making a sqaure is because it is following a sqaure.

@ceebo100 it wouldn't make a perfect square if the triangle part the drill is mounted to was slightly the wrong shape, and it wouldn't make a very nice square if you just traced a square with a plain drill. The triangle isn't actually following the square, either, actually, just rotating within its bounds. So there's that.
