Firstly I adore your lip piercing! It is so sexy!LOL And second, I don't have a huge lid space so using normal size brushes to define the crease never works...the shadow always goes to high or just not narrow enough. I cant afford macbrushes and am just about to start trying to do more than just neutral browns (just ordered some loose shadows from simply naturals) so was wondering if until I get the hang of things if using lip brushes would work for the crease?
There is definitely no set rule on which brush to use where - use what works best for you! If you get the look you want with a lip brush, why not keep using it? ;)
You can also try aualinebeauty (online) for extremely inexpensive brushes - i LOVE mine. The only problem is you have to order a $50 minimum since it's all wholesale. I think it's definitely worth it though. =)
hi I have the same sort of eyes- i.e pretty big lid. Thought 239 would be too small- are you happy with it?thought i might go for 252 instead...? Any recs?
The only eye shadow brushes I have from MAC are the 239 & 217. I love them both & would recommend getting them both, if you have the extra money to spend.
I've been using my Sephora shadow brushes a lot more frequently. They are just like flat, oval shaped brushes. Not fluffy like the 239, but similar shape.
The Loew-Cornell really are great brushes, so I'd suggest getting some of those first.
thanks. I have the 217, do u think i can use it for applying lid colour AND crease? Or is 239 better for packing on colour...? It just looks small for our big eyes...is that not true?
While I have used the 217 often for applying color all over my lid, I think it's really too fluffy & not best designed for all over lid application. It's fine if you want your color a bit more "washed out" (for lack of a better term at the moment! ;p) If you want very concentrated color, then use something much flatter (perhaps the 249? Though I have never used this brush, or even seen it up close & personal!) 217 is really idea for blending edges, it gives everything a softer look.
my door is broken so she likes to push to door open and not just enough for her to get through but enough for about 50 cats to get through...but you gotta love cats
thanx for this! it really helped me out!:)

But the 239 is fine for applying shadow, too.

That really helped. I will soon buy that brush set you recommended for gel liners. Thanks a lot:)

out of each "sets"[by different uses] of brushes you showed what is your top favorite of each one??

I usually use Loew-Cornell brushes for everything. And the MAC 217 i absolutely LOVE!! I couldn't live without the 217!! ;)
But i don't really pay much attention to what brand I use, I just grab one that looks like the right size & shape for whatever I'm applying.
