Just so as you know, Ilha das Flores nowadays is a redut for the super-rich, with a good plot of land by the river costing more than U$500,000 (only the land). Poorer inhabitants live by the road, but nothing like the poverty you see on this video. You can check on Google Earth, coordinates 29°59'27.71"S and 51°15'56.37"W. Rich houses to the South and poor houses to the East.

Well, it is indeed a great film, extremely shocking. I guess the question now is, what do we do about it? Aren't we contributing to the whole shit in this world when we just neglect everything that goes on and carry on with our lives as if they didn't exist? (I'm not judging anyone here, the question also goes to myself...)
