@iorost my build order is basically: all Asteroids, then 2x seeker for scouting; Capital factory and as many Disciples as I can get until the Capital is done. Which Capital ship you get is down to personal preference. When this fleet is on its way to the first viable planet, I start a Missionary (the colony ship) to follow the fleet around as it takes down those little defensive fleets and collects XP.

@zzxcvb98 each side has their own agenda. the TEC...they were assholes to the advent at first...kicked them out of their space. so the advent have severe dislike for them now and have come back to either annihilate them or absorb them into the unity. the vasari are some bunch of aliens that have come from far away space and are desparate for resources so they'll kill anyone in their path. tec are the "good guys" but they've done really shitty things in their past.

Well, it's been shown that there are different factors of each race, so Vasari generally allies with Vasari, Advent with Advent, and TEC with TEC, hence the racial bonuses in Diplomacy.

The Advent is good in great numbers, and with strike craft, but is hopeless with capital ships.

Radiance + progenitor: cleansing brilliance + malice can wipe out an entire fleet

Radiance + progenitor + rapture

Animosity + vengeance + shield regen will force every ship to attack the radiance and recieve 200% of the dealt dmg back

also advent have the highest shield mitigation and their LRF tear up anything if you ever played online you'd know that.

Actual: You can not give the other Ai players a "Go and kill X of Nteams buildings/ships." But after you get into a good enough relation ship you can ping nearby systems to your ally and they MAY send their fleet over there.

(Ping=the little circleish button in the lower right.)

Keep in mind that the other player has his own objectives too and might just ignore you.

Halcyon Carriers are beautiful, but that's about it, Advent may be strong, but they need enoguh time to become so, they are so weak to rushing. TEC are the only ones who can roll out an efficient ship in no time. And the Vasari needs too many resources, but have great survivability.

From the sound of the intro if the game, said race would be quite overpowered compared to the current ones. there is no real importance to inertia or tactical awarness like other games.

Depends how you look at it. The TEC ships are the hardiest ships in the game, while the Advent vessels are the hardest hitting. The Vasari are a mix, but can hold their own during battle. The TEC ships are all utility, ugly and brawning, and bristling with weapons, and use projectile weaponry. Advent vessels are sleek, using laser weapons. Vasari ships are again, a mix, with laser technology combined with projectile tech.

That would be the Progenitor Mothership. Thing's pretty nasty starting ship, what with the ability to regenerate the shields of surrounding ships and boost the damage done to enemy ships.

It's an option for people who like a bit of colour i guess, it's easy to turn off (like I've done) in options, it's called coloured skybox. The colour of the space in a solar system depends on the colour of the star, green star = green space, red = red etc. If you turn off skybox it's just black all round, more realistic.

Ohh you'd be wrong there. They suck early, but once you get the illuminators and the guardians, they can pretty much kick anybody's ass. I fought a battle with 30 of those puppies against 50 Cobalts and two capital ships. By 30 second I had wiped out halfed of the fleet and lost none.

Hmmmm..... Advent lacks firepower, hull strength, shield strength, phase missiles, resource capabilities and only really comes into its own with mass transcendency. In the time it takes the Advent to mature they usually are already dead.

Nope, you just got to know how to play them, by the time you get the illuminator and the guardian, the other fleet is pretty much done. What the advent lack in all of those they make for it in sheer size.

Believe me, I want to agree with you, and Advent is my favourite race, but in every single game I've played online it always ends up being TEC v VAS. And I've played some dudes who have not been push overs. Illuminators and guardians are good, but without a resource boom early you cannot get the research prerequisites required,esp. with an early Tec raid. Besides illuminator's supply cost makes it useless to Javelis' and phase missiles will always tear Advent apart
