Wow, Frank, I am very impressed (and sorry to be late in watching this)! I loved heights until I became disabled. Now speed bumps make me nervous, so I am even more impressed with your friend Ron!
I'm with you, Tom. Ron and I have ridden many miles on bicycles together, and I was only a cheerleader on the climbing stuff. I interview him on the radio while he was climbing the Transamerica building.
It takes a special man. I'll stick to the mountain trail. I saw a news blurb from a Russian source about a french "urban climber", Alain Robert. It seems he is paid well in his exploits, because they mentioned $300K coming from Russian interests. He scaled Moscow's West Tower, using in-place holds.
It was hard to understand the Russian accents, but rumors are the owners of the building in Moscow paid between (Euros) $100-300K. Good-will publicity, obviously.
Wow, he's done a lot of amazing things in his life! Is there any footage of these things other than the stuff on the site you made? I want to do some stuff like this as well, I'm always up for this. I saw he went on a 1700 mile bike trip, how long did that take? And how exactly were these tools used in climbing?
Ron arrived home from California today, and has assured me the footage we have been talking about will be available to me soon. When I get the digitized files I will begin placing them on YouTube.
respect to ya m8!

Wow...I'm not real good with heights and the thought of scaling the outside of a building gives me the willies! Gotta watch the rest of these...

Ron is reading all the replies to the videos. To my knowledge he doesn't have a YouTube account. Thanks for all the camcorder information, Tom.

Ron's first building climb made the front page of most of the newspapers around the world. Some were referring to him as spiderman.
