  • 10 Months and it's still Rockin it! I did finally build the Desktop and this laptop still beats it hands down. I added the second 500 GB hard drive and keep it dust free. Still running the same factory install of Windows 7 and man this thing owns Skyrim. Very few times can I say I made the right choice...this is one of them.

  • @seoulborn67 awesome to hear, mine is still rocking strong too. FYI the alienware orion back pack fits it perfect.

  • @Maxxmentum Awesome! I'm using a Targus 17" case and it holds EXACTLY this machine and the cords and not much else. I'll go check the Orion out!

So Lovin' this machine! and Yes I did upgrade to Win7Pro - forgot about that since it runs most everything without the XP mode.

  • @dontforgetme1651435 Dude that sucks. Have u blown air into the vents? I was having a heat issue till I did that. Also gata keep some space below the bottom. What did ASUS say?

  • i wana punch u in the facce

  • @RObomoj0 spelled face wrong

  • kool am getting the asus g73jh A2 its alot better 8g of ram you can run ever game out one high setting witth no lag i would say you should switch :)

  • I to have the best buy model, love it outside of the hdd noise. Ended up getting a intel x25-m 160gb ssd drive and moved the seagate drive to the secondary port.

    Great laptop!

  • Just commenting that I've had my G73JH since May of last year, and I absolutely 100% love my laptop, I have had no need for a desktop since buying - meaning I have all the parts to build me a desktop but this laptop works so beautifully I feel too lazy to build the desktop. Still running on 6GB of ram and two 500 GB hds.

  • @seoulborn67 Very cool of you to chime in. Even cool sysop report. This machine does rock. :)

  • @Maxxmentum I just wanted follow up with you again since it's nearly been a year from my first comments. I'm glad you're still enjoying yours too.

  • does this model have 3 ram slots and support 2 hard drives?

  • @Str82YourFace yeah I mention this in the review. It has a second bay for another 500gig and an open ram slot to go to 8 gigs

  • great video

  • Hey, I just got this laptop, it is too big for normal cooler fan pads, which one do you have and do you recommend??? thanks

  • @TPAsses I don't use on on mine, what I use is a stand to elevate it at at least a centimeter. Now, if you are gong to go for a cool, use one that sucks in air from the side and pushes it up through the middle. The reverse will fight the stealth design cooling system. Belkin makes a decent one (white with a wavy shape), but kind of loud but works well.

    Hope that help

    -maxx

  • okay..thx a lot man..now i will get this laptop for sure..

  • hey man thx for the review..im planning to get this same type of asus G73JH-RBBX05 but i've heard that this type is "factory recertified"so does it mean its bad?and i also heard several problems about the laptop being so hot and it crashed..hv u had this problems with your asus?thx man..

  • @alexmason24 It really depends. Most returns are just because someone did not like it. ASUS seems to be on the ball, so I would think it would be okay. The hot rumor I would expect from a toshiba, but not asus. Mine runs pretty cool especially compared to my dell. All computers need air for cooling, Asus intact is on the belly. I give mine about a cm under to ensure good cooling. Shut the air flow off on anything computer and you will kill it.

  • Since the Bestbuy version is inferior to the $1600 version, will i be able to play games on high/maxed settings? Like Starcraft 2 or Battlefield Badcompany 2? MP for BC2

  • @oceanblue1224 Hi, I play WoW, L4D, MW 2, Mass effect with upper end settings. Often with email and mass web pages open in the background. Have not played Bad company 2, but wanted to try it. The vid card is an ATI 5870 in both I think. Its a great card. Hope that helps. -maxx

  • nice review bro! :D

  • @Cheezmik @Cheezmik Hi, okay the windows OS has nothing to do with the hardware buttons. You want to reinstall the drivers from asus page. Probably the ATK ones

  • The power brick can be used as a weapon.

  • @Blackwater200 um I guess it could. Is there a story to go with that? LOL

  • Just a simple question, WITH GOOD FPS (NO LAG) whats the highest crysis can play on it?

  • @XNextGenVideoGamesX I have to admit, I am one of the few sad souls that does not have crysis. I have got i the 70's on JustCause2, and have been playing MW2, LFD2 with email and other browsers open in the background (40 to 80 tabs) with no real issues.

  • @Maxxmentum Well than for your examples, in MW2 online and campaign on HIGH settings, does it lag?

  • @XNextGenVideoGamesX not really, when it does lag it is usually from a network issue and not really game play.

  • @XNextGenVideoGamesX You could play MW2 Online MAXED with a good internet connection with a nice framerate aslong as your not recording

  • Hey I found this laptop with all the same specs for 849.99 is that a good deal for this computer? ( I just want to use it for gaming only like cod an such I already have a mac for everything else)

  • @gamecreaterdude13 Hey, yeah that sounds like a nice deal. Mine works great for FPS. Its a great gaming rig.

  • @Maxxmentum Thanks man can't wait December 11 my bday

  • @gamecreaterdude13 Hey, sorry to post here, but where did you find that deal? I found on on Newegg for $870 but it's temporarily out of stock.

Also, great review. Very honest and it was very helpful. If I can find this for a good price, I will definitely be buying this!

  • @iluvfuz Newegg yea it's out of stock but I'm sure it will be back in stock b4 my birthday (December 11)

  • cool room man

  • @sniperboy102 Thanx :)

  • I'm planning on buying this one (because the G73JW is too expensive for my pocket). Tell me about it... Good results since March 2010? Did you had to update the vbios to prevent GSODs? bye !!! thanx for the video !!!!

  • @chochanga Hi, I have never had the GSOD. I do have a final video put up in Jul talking about those things. Aside from what is talked about there its been great. Thing as been humming along and has been a multitasking king (still running only 6 Gigs for memory).

  • @993ironman very cool, keep us posted on if that kills the issue. I dont have the GSOD, but some of the others do. Thx for the 411

  • Can you tell me about the viewing angles of the 1600x900 plz ?

I heard vertical one is really bad and you cant watch movies with another person.

    Is it true?

    thx

  • @jeffy141 Hola, see I have had ppl say this too, but its never been really an issue for me. I have watched movies with others and its not been a problem. That being said if you pull the screen towards you past 80 deg there is a notable drop in brightness, but how many ppl r u cramming in to watch on a laptop? The range is not as open but its $400 less than the A1. So its about what you want vs can pay for. I am screen picky, but not fanatical. Personally I run double monitors.

  • @Maxxmentum OK thx a lot for your answer and your great review :)

Well I'm considering buying the 1600x900 but I was afraid the angles would be a prob. But seems you seem OK with it well I think it's fine.

As you said, paying an extra 400dollars (euros for me) kinda hurts!

    thx again!

PS: did you try running Starcraft 2 on it ?

  • How well would this run Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl or Call Of Pripyat?

  • @Jakerinobino Hola, I don't have either of those, but since I just got done playing CODMW2 with 12 other apps open without any real issues, okay a small one, then I hit the turbo and gone gone, I think it should do fine. The specs on these games does not look like it would be an issue. Tell me how stalker is when you get it. I am curious. Hope that helps, TTYL

  • hey i just got this computer and i didnt get the asus ai backup on a disc because i dont have any blank discs.i have already install things on my computer can i still make a backup disc? reply asap plzz

  • @deedeedeekilljoy Dont worry amigo, ur good. Unless blow away the HDD partition there is a stock backup image. U can make a back up after u custom it the way you like. So u r good. Hope that helps. Game on.

  • Dude, what did u get trached for?

  • @993ironman also it totally sucks that your gear is not working right, sorry to hear. Talk to ASUS, they should cover it.

  • @993ironman I have never got the GSOD, and I run my system massively tasked. Have you talked to asus about this? Also, GSOD sounds very much like a cooling symptom. I keep my machine about 1 cm off the surface. If the intakes (which I think are on the bottom) cant get air flow, it might be causing this. Not saying it is the problem, just if I had to shoot from the hip its a point to check. Plus this is a possible BIOS issue.

  • I'm not really much of a hardcore computer person, but i hear of people upgrading the BIOS and i dont really know what that is :p. Since it's causing big problems with this computer, i wouldnt do it myself, but i don't know if it's something i'd have to do or not.

  • @XClone08 Hi, Bios upgrades are done for really only two reasons. 1) Something is either not working or not working as well as it should, and the bios upgrade is the fix. exp: machine hangs on returning form a suspend..stuff like that. 2) you're pretty in sink with your machine, and the upgrade will provide a improvement no one but you will really notice, but you do :) I did it because I thought there was a issue with my keyboard, there was not, but that part of the fun of learning.

  • @Maxxmentum ok i think i understand. Since im ordering it at this time, wouldnt you say that most of the problems Asus has run into with the g73 have been resolved?

  • @XClone08 I only bought one :P, but giving that time has passed and ASUS rep, I think ur in the clear. :)

  • geek ass

  • I'm just wondering, does the Best Buy G73 come with a mouse and bag, too?

  • @D3ADA1M Nope, no backpack or mouse. unless BB is offering some deal that is outside. I went BB cause I needed the 18months same as cash. The A1/A2 is a slightly more beefy machine and are priced accordingly. That being said. Its all give/take, and what fits ur situation best. I really like my system, and it kicks mega ass. Hope that helps

  • I heard there are issues with the left click and right click on the laptop that's why it came with the mouse. Is it true?

  • @filiwian Hey, the glydpad and buttons are not ideal for gaming but I have not heard of this issue u mentioned. Also, ASUS always offers a a mouse and/or backpack with their gaming rigs ( non-best buy deals ). If you are gaming, ur using a mouse ( pref gaming mouse ). Glydpad will get u so powned. I suggest a poll to the others, but I doubt its true.

  • @SteezyMcToddles I dont have GOW, but I am guessing it will easily play it. I play MW2 (hack city grrr, but anyways). The unit is portable but its not small, most of the weight is in the power brick. I have gamed out at coffee shops and the university. If your on MW2 or TF2, mine is warwhore :). Hope this helps

  • Nice review. I've been looking at this laptop.

Do you know what the screen's response time is in milliseconds? My only fear is "ghosting" in Quake Live.

  • @fcweddington Sorry I dont know. However I play AVP, MW2, TF2, Mass effect, and champions-online. Often I will have tow monitors or multiple windows open and have rarely seen any issues with the screen. So I hope that helps

  • @SteezyMcToddles external Serial ATA is a high speed connection for external drives. My Asus G51 has it, the G73 does now. However the G73 has space for a second 500GB HDD, so you really dont need it.

  • Does the BB version also have the carrying case?

  • @AsianGaiden sorta , see my review on targus bag

  • its a super sweet loptop i got my from gentech a1 model

  • Best Buy sucks really hard. The laptop use to be 1100, and today they increased it to 1250. Bunch of jews.

  • @Petoskey116 First, the "jews" comment is uncool. Dude your better than that. Second, BB usually will cut some deal with the vendor where one of them will eat some of the price during release period. BB does this with everything. Want a new tech device, and want it from BB. Buy in the first two months, rule of thumb for me.

  • @Maxxmentum Well. It makes me mad. Sorry about the Jew comment, but I just get mad over things like this. It's a multi billion dollar company, $50 is not a lot to them.

  • @Petoskey116 No prob, and thanks for the acknowledgement. Yeah I totally feel ya on the price change method. I missed out on two cool deals because of that tactic, but on the plus side now you know. And knowing is half the battle, GI Joe says so. :) BB is still better than circuit city's methods when they were around. The only one that does not do it is Fry's, but they are kind of pricey sometimes. .

  • @Maxxmentum This model still is a great deal. You get a lot of great hardware, including a class 1 video card, for $1250. An alienware equivalent would be about $2500 or more!

This laptop has 2 hard drive slots (I have read) and dual fans which pwns. I really want this one. I don't play high intense games, except for maybe StarCraft 2 and Guild Wars 2, so this laptop is perfect for me.

  • do you think that this laptop has so may bugs because it was brought from best buy?

i wanted to buy the g73jh a2...from xotic pc. you think that the quality will be better?

  • @BloodShott22 its a new formfactor, so its kind of up in the air. Best thing you can do is what you are doing now. Ask us brave/suckers willing to fork out the cash for opinions. I think xoticpc gives you more muscle for more cash, but the quality will likely be the same.

  • This comment is a message to anyone out there who has Zbrush and also happens to have the G73jh. could someone please upload a video showing zbrush being used on the g73jh? I just want to know if it's compatible and if it can run smoothly even at the program's most demanding points. Thanks

  • Hi, I bought this laptop from BB as a mother's day present to my self.. BB really gave me a hard time about this machine...they geeksquad-ed the first one I bought (it was the only one the only one they had left besides the display model). Geeksquadding added another 100 to the price - sucks. I got it home and while gaming WoW the D button flipped off!

  • I took it back to BB - they refunded me everything but 99c (something called an asked the agent card was left out of my repack - I don't remembe ever seeing it). I had to order a new one which meant I was out 2600.00 until the refund finally hit my account 4 days later - right taking my money is instant - giving it back isn't - more sucks.

  • It took a week and two days to get the new machine which was beat all to heck box wise plus it was the model that comes with an AOU screen..totally unacceptable compared to the ones that come with the LG screen. I ended up with their display model... it has the LG screen - trust me, there is a major difference in display quality and I was willing to put up with a display model to get it.

  • So now for this machine. It is everything !maxxmentum says it and then some. I'm not going to add the 3rd stick of ram because it is running at it's optimum on 6 and I would rather invest that money in another drive. I added a wd velociprator 5gb to the second hd bay.

  • It didn't have the drive case but I used a strong double sided tape to secure it. All the games I play max out without an lag (think WoW and Lagaran - absolutely smooth a ultra settings) The sound is awesome for on the road but I hook it up to my THX surround sound when home. I just need a suggestion on a laptop case - if anyone has one.

  • @seoulborn67 why did Geeksquad add a 100? They keys are the new chicklet style. so the tops can pop off. Should just plug right back in. Now if it's a really key issue call the ASUS number, they are 24 hours. I dont' really care for BB geeksquad warrenty stuff, but its nice that hey are a repair center for asus warrenty. You should not be paying anything for this fix. Get Asus to back you.

  • @Maxxmentum When BB "geeksquads" a machine...they pick them off the shelf and then add virus protection, make the back up disks and clean off the trial software, then they add "value" services like their "ask the agent" stuff etc.

  • @Maxxmentum Then they add 99.99 to the overall price of the product. Which is fine for run-of-the-mill laptops and desktops...but if gamers are like me, they want to tweak their new machines their way and that's not necessarily the geeksquad way. I know I did my new one for less than 99.99.

  • @Maxxmentum as far as the broken key. Right the keys can "just pop off" but this one actually had the bottom catches underneath damaged so as long as you hit the key in the center you were fine...catch it at the top and it would flip off. I just refunded the whole machine and the geeksquad warranty and repurchased the display model so I could get the LG screen.

  • @seoulborn67 yeah that crap needs to be fixed or replaced on their dime. Mine did not come with much bloatware, BB as a installer package on their gear now that could be useful for novice. Sounds a little like geepsquad was hard selling. Might be wort a nasty-gram to BB corp for that.

  • thanx for doing this vid... ill be getting this soon and now i know what ill be look forward to see when i get the laptop.. :)

  • I had no choice to get asus g73-x3 but i was able to get asus g73-a1 from web with the mouse and the bag... However 1st day when i got it i had the screen issue wit my laptop my screen went half gray half rainbow while the system was starting up.

and how long it takes your system to start? bcuz my system takes about 1min + and i enable fastboot and disable fastboot it still the same am i doing something wrong? i only have left4dead install in my computer....

  • @zigga777 where did u get it becuz i want the a1 but every site says preorder...

  • Hi, had my G73JH LCD failure on my 2nd day. The replacement I've got is something like this watch?v=9O8Ng_qLQlA it fails on my test images in the description box. Yeah, G73JH is really a best buy, but the service is just terrible. I'm gonna get my 3rd one maybe for the next two weeks. I bought it like a month ago and have never used it for more than 3 days! It's really unacceptable.

  • @TheSuperTonsky that mega sucks. Why is BB taking so long to turn it around? Do you know the cause of the failure? On laptops I usually pic up a warranty (not best buy) just cause they are subjected to bumping. Sorry to hear ur woes on this. Asus was really good to me, is that who is servicing?

  • @Maxxmentum I'm not sure about the cause of the problem. The first one is definitely a bad LCD panel. The second one might the the LCD inverter. I wonder what would be the next problem when I get the 3rd one. This really sucks, it takes two f#$%ing weeks to get this crap. If my 3rd still fails, I'm gonna demand for a full refund. I have don't have much time to waste queueing in the service center and waiting for the replacement part to arrive just to turn out to be another defective part.

  • ily

  • Have you brought this laptop to school/college/uni? How portable is it =/?

  • @iSpaceBoy Not bad, picked up a Targus messenger bag that fits it. Two front pockets hold power brick and cables. The laptop is not that heavy for its size.

  • @Maxxmentum Any chance of giving me the link for it? And how do you find the screen resolution / quality?

    Thanks.

  • @iSpaceBoy Hi, I like the screen resolution. It seems pretty clear and reacts nicely during graphics and games. (modern warfare 2 at 1600X900 looks good.)

bag is Targus - CityGear Miami Messenger Laptop Case - Black/ Gray Best Buy has it for 40 or 50 bucks

  • @Maxxmentum Thanks for answering my questions :)

  • @Maxxmentum is that have a long battery life? PLZ REPLY TO ME!!!

  • i was just looking at the bestbuy website... they had $1299.00 what is the difference between $1299. and mine? omg if difference is only ram and harddrive i am gonna cancel my order and go to bestbuy today!!

  • @zigga777 I just re-read yours. I thought u were getting all the extras too. Yea you probably are making a better choice getting from BB or going through exoticPC. Now I did pay 299 for 3 years accidental protection through square trade, so it bumps the price up a bit, but but square trade will often have coupons for 20 or 30% off floating around.

  • I just purchased 1 from tiger direct...

    Asus ASUS G73JH-X3 Laptop Computer - Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz, 8GB DDR3, 640GB HDD, DVDRW, 17.3" Display, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Black

    2year manufacture warranty & 1year accidental warranty

for about $1700 with free shipping including tax. did i pay too much for it?

i have seen someother website had asus g73 -A1 for $1700 with blueray w/ 1tb hard drive inclduing free bag & mouse but it was pre order i just didn't wanted to wait.

  • @zigga777 Actually if you have the extra scratch, not a bad deal. That one looks a little beefier on some of the specs (HDD, RAM). I love mine, so I think you will be happy. Hell if the backpack fits it, thats almost worth it right there. She is kind of big :) I did notice exoticPC had some good deals on it too, but I think its splitting hairs. Looks good to me.

  • Nice video. I was just in BB looking this little jem over and while I won't be using it for gaming, I do like to watch videos and have a lot of tabs open at the same time for work. Help info you gave me was back lighting for the keyboard, additional hard drive, and memory. I spotted it by accident and one of the BB guys told me everyone at the store owns one who's into gaming. I knew I should have dropped my card and bought it on the spot but I wanted to find out all the facts. Thanks.

  • hi, nice video!

    Two clarifications:

-does the bestbuy model come with a subwoofer-as in a physical speaker and a one that plays!(this might sound ridiculous-but i read elsewhere that an Asus tech clarified to an inquiring customer that bestbuy removes the subwoofer -leaving the external opening!).

-what brand of screen are you having?LG or AOU? Is there any external indications on the box/serial number sticker/laptop demarcating the two display types?

    Thanks

  • @TOR1R - okay I looked over the box and other docs. I don't see anything indicating the brand of screen. So sorry cant help you on that one. - concerning the subwoofer, The sound is fairly decent, when I crank up the base it is noticeable but I don't hear the deep "boom" that I would with a dedicated unit, but there is more "thump" respectively for a laptop. Video game gunshots and explosions do have a little rumble to them. If there is not one, the reg speakers are working decent.

  • @TOR1R upon thinking about it. This stuff is a lot like car assembly. Top of the line is the same as the low end minus the parts. If the sub is not present it can be added. So adding it later (if u r that kind of enthusiast) is an option. However, I used to build systems and I would not do it. :)

  • @Maxxmentum Nah am not going to add the sub if the same is missing! The besybuy attracts me more because of the screen resolution-anything in the 1080 range and the headroom for DX11 games that are upcoming(and personally anticipating!) will become limited.

A lower native resolution from a personal point of view is the way forward-moreover DVD viewing will be done on my 1080 Bravia panel.

  • @Maxxmentum As the lappy is having an open vent at the bottom housing the sub-i got got curious if you could actual see the sub physically in side the same.

Had seen the Dell 1749 and that had a sweet audio output and was curious if the G73 came somewhere near. Thanks for the help anyway.

While we are at it-did you get any 2% Bing Cash back coupons on BB?

  • hey, im wondering if this system would be good for World of Warcraft and college? ill most likely put in the extra 500gb hard drive as well.

  • @allen1dl2dp It will do fine, WoW will look stunning. I ran champions on total max at 1600 x 900, and the sound is nice too.

  • @maxxmentum Thanks sooo much. i will be looking at this in store hopefully to try it out a bit if they let me. Also I think ill wait for some bugs to be worked out. Thanks again for your time!

  • @allen1dl2dp almost forgot, concerning multitasking for college. I often use 3 different browsers open (various reasons), and will have 20+ tabs open, with music, email, readers (txt 2 speech), netflix, and often office open with no really problems. Now if ur throwing down something like matlab you may have to kill some stuff if ur chugging big models, but this will work for school. When running big games (mass effect, crysis) other apps will likely have to go. Hope that helps.

    -maxx

  • @Maxxmentum Well hopefully it helped him, it helped me. THanks

  • I was recommended this system as I am looking to replace toshiba sp30-131 8 yrs old, however I would not be using it a lot for gaming but more for dvd & tv, movies etc. looks a stunning piece of kit but am i spending for something I dont need as I am looking to buy a system that will last me for the next 4-5 years........advice appreciated

  • hi! got the same model from best buy, just wondering what windows index score you guys have coz mine is saying that its just 6.0 for both gaming graphics and aero... hope that you guys can comment on this

  • great review thanks. helped decide which laptop to buy to replace gateway FX. need good gamer laptop. does it have raid 0 capablities is only question

  • @draykas Hey Thanx. There is room for a second HDD so I would say software raid system sure, not sure about there being built in hardware for RAID 0. Not that it matters for this thing, but if your doing striping you will burn more power and the "limited" mobile unplugged power run time will be diminished a bit. Hope that helps.

  • Nice I just hope I will have enough cash to get it in June pick it up right from my local Bestbuy thx for the review. :)

  • great vid, thanks man

  • DUDE! LOVE THE TANK GIRL POSTER!

  • @sexyisopod first to mention it...thanks :)

  • Mine is the best buy RBBX05, runs 1199, the one ur looking at is 1600 or around that. The others are higher end, but also more pricey. Its really about what you want. I wanted a great machine for a good price. Hope that helps

  • @Maxxmentum hi! got the same model from best buy, just wondering what windows index score you guys have coz mine is saying that its just 6.0 for both gaming graphics and aero... hope that you guys can comment on this 16 minutes ago

  • @tachumi Hey, yeah something is up with that . I am getting 7.0, 7.2, 7.2, 7.2, 5.9. Now that graphics did drop to 6.8 if I was running dual monitors. I have email and other stuff running on the side. Check your drivers and if its still an issue contact ASUS, best buy is asus's repair site, so if there is an issue you dont have to send it off. Also the demo of Just Cause2 demo gave me 60's or 70's fps

  • @Maxxmentum now i'm gettng 7.2 when i turned my web connection off.... hmmm don't really know what's up with that.... aside from that i also just installed crysis warhead so i can see the real performance of this thing and it turned out very impressive... anyway have you tried updating your catalyst to 10.3?

  • @tachumi Hi, okay that is odd. I have not upgraded to the 10.3 yet. I probably wont till I back it up. Let me know if it works. I did on the prior unit before I swapped it out on the backlit issue, and it did not seem to matter. On the Justcause2 demo though steam I am getting 60's and 70's FPS. I would shoot asus an email about that web connection off = higher score issue. Could be a bios fix.

  • @Maxxmentum hi just got my 4th 2gb ram stick... installed it and it didn't boot. it's a kingston pc8500 1.5 v... have you tried installing another ram stick? by the way thanks for your comment

  • @tachumi Hey, going through the usually stuff. Check the bios, and make sure the speed types are compatible. kingston is usually a decent brand but sometimes you get a bad batch. I would pull the ram after the other stuff does not work and just put the 2 Gig in. Uh hhumm..of course following all static safety steps..:) If that fails, call asus, the have really good tech support.

  • @Maxxmentum finally manage to make my upgrade from 6gig ram to 8 gig work. all i did was made sure all my power setting was on high performace, shut my system off then i installed the ram, booted up just fine. thanks for all the advice

  • Hello...

u said it only goes to 1600 by 900, but other websites and reviews says it goes to 1920 by 1080 cuz its a FULL HD screen, is there models...

iam talking about the A2 or X2 model the one without the blueray...

  • 3d modeling, gata side with the asus. The vid card is very meaty. However the screen only goes to 1600 by 900. If that works for you then my vote is for ASUS. Now to be fair, I dont own the Qosmio but I know guys who do and they like them. For me, I side with the G73, but again I would go to a Qosmio owner and get there pro cons. Hope that helps.

  • Thanks for your reply, which one is better for 3d Modeling and BIM?

  • Which one is better, this one or toshiba qosmio x505-860?

  • @omerygolan This one is a monster. toshiba one is no where near this bad boy.. dont get me wrong toshiba qosmio is good but its not a gamin laptop... the graphic card is low.

  • @omerygolan Hi, I vote ASUS, back in the day when I built systems asus motherboards gave me the best results. Also, I have a G50 thats been pretty reliable. But I would poll the masses and go with your gut. It really depends on what you want and what you get for the money.

  • @omerygolan no way man this will so kick its ass get the asus

  • Thanks for the review. Followed your Best Buy review here. I'll be buying this once it's available again. I look forward to your 30 day review at the end of April.

  • THanks for the review. Im thinking of getting this or the an alienware m17x.... looking forward to the follow up

  • Thanks for the review. Thinking of ordering the A1 model for myself. I saw one like yours in Best Buy last weekend and I could not get the keyboard backlight to work on that one either.
