  • This is Music To My Ears !! It Evoques Images of Sunny Art-Deco Sky Scrappers and 40's 50's Oldmobiles , What a Classic

  • Holst was a genius.

  • So fucking epic.

  • In reference to the description, Reese's is owned by Hershey... not Mars, right? If it were Mars, that would make use of Jupiter funnier, I think.

  • epic!

  • Aaaaaaahhhhh! :D I can't believe this commercial is on YouTube!! It's one of my all-time favourites!!! :D Thank you so much!

  • The Song is Jupiter by Holst

  • Umm, Reeses is owned by Hershey, not Mars...

  • Jupiter by Gustav Holst.

    Best song ever.

  • Agree.

    Nothing beats that song.

  • Reeses are my favorite candy bar and the it comes oreos and snickers

  • best 15 seconds of any existing song.period.

  • And to think only 2 generations ago they used that type of music for any occassion.

  • I'm lookign for the song from the newest one, it sounds sorta like a song from an online game..something nitrome would use..any help? The song has no words.

  • You know, you COULD try answering me, smartass.

  • But I don't know what it is, I haven't even seen the newest one. Or I don't believe so, anyway.

  • "Originally," in western music, the only thing they had to make music was lyrics. Just because you hear Symphony this and symphony that, it must mean that they didn't have voices back then, and we utilized instruments before thinking about singing or anything. Original music, that us westerns care about and are currently talking about, came from chants. That's where numes came from, that's where melodies came from, etc. Look into Pope Gregory and Hildegard, see how many instruments they used.

  • lol we were playing this song in my band when this commercial was airing... ah there was a few jokes about it(:

  • this is officially the most epic commerical for a snack food i have ever seen

  • It's confused a lot lately. The music of Jupiter is also used in Sarah Brightman's "Running" song from her latest album Symphony.

  • Sorry, but M&M Mars does not make Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Reese's does, a division of Hershey's

  • what i dont get is what the hell other snack out ther do u choose penut butter or chocolate

  • great commercial but after just hearing the entire song, these 15 seconds are the only 15 seconds i acknowledge

  • THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING

  • This is Jupiter, not Mars.

  • omg this song frigon rocks this is like the best commercial ever

  • I get so excited whenever this comes on.

We played this song in band last year. It was awesome!

  • Gustav Holst's Jupiter from The Planets. is the song.

  • "Does anybody Know the name of this song?"

Have seen this question posted, in one form or another, at least five times! Doesn't anybody read the comments before asking?!? (^.^)'

Anyway, Does anybody know which symphony performed the piece in the commercial?

  • Soooo Epic

  • I absolutly love this commercial and the music.

  • I LOVE THIS COMMERICAL!

    LMAO

    the music is amazing

    who's it by?

  • Gustav Holst- The planets - jupiter

  • Does anyone know the song in the newest commercial? D:

  • yeah its Gustav Holst- The planets - jupiter

  • Aww, Thanks for responding and all, But I didn't mean this commercial, I mean the one that airs on TV now. :x Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • SWeeET! Ive been wondering about that for weeks!

  • I knew i recognized the song! From "The Planets!" It all makes sense now...

  • what is this song, it's so goddamn epic.

  • It's called Jupiter bt Gustav Holst.

    Very touching. :)

  • I didn't realize this commercial concept was on going from the 70's. I really hate it so bad/much that I mute when I hear it. Finally I had to come online to find out what pp'l thoughts and comments were. I mean come on! Do I feel like eating a reeses now? I think never.

In my opinion a reese commercial should make one risk an Anaphylactic shock just to try one.

  • this is the best commercial i have ever seen. that's it. its absolutely perfect. thank you all very much. i can die now.

  • OK, this music-- and I mean this exact version of the piece-- gave me a flashback to the late 70s, like I had heard it on TV all the time then. I was about 8 years old then. Does anyone here have any idea what I'm talking about? Did a TV show in the late 70s use this music for some reason? Was it in a commercial then too? Do share any ideas....

  • It's the opening theme from starstuff, but it's not this exact version. It's much longer, and doesn't skip right from the very beginning to the very end.

  • Look up holst: the planets. I think this one is mars...

  • Jupiter, actually.

  • yesssss!!! Cavies! thats a great show!

  • what's the name of this song?

  • Jupiter

  • by gustav holst,

listen to mars, thats another good one

  • Yeah. I think a certain composer named John Williams listened to it a *bit* too much :P

  • The Planets are great works of music.

But Jesus. Jupiter is has the hardest violin part of any of them!

  • This Epic song is Jupiter the bringer of jollity from the planets. By Gustav Holst. I played this in my high school symphonic winds band and let me tell you that this song IS THE SHIT! Clark McAlister transcribed this for wind band and it was so good.

  • This song is so amazing it makes my kidneys pee a little, it's so wonderfully epic but it has that starwarsy touch, yet it's like an old superhero show, I question why god made a song so disturbingly awsome, It's not even a guilty pleasure, IT'S JUST A DAMN GOOD SONG!.....I'm going to go buy some Reese cups now... (^.^)

  • so sexy

  • Whooo

That would be OUR grade 6 we're playing this year for festival.

    HAHA

    We're crazy.

    That song is hella wicked.

  • haha nice.

we play both this and the Mars movement for the spring concert every year at my school :P

  • Good luck my friend!!

How are your clarinets doing for the beginning of Jupiter?

Our 2nds are struggling like crazy.

  • hah, i have no idea (since I'm an orchdork), the new kids haven't even gotten the music yet for this year.

But the band usually overall has a lot of problems with it

  • its not a song, its a piece. songs have voices in them :P

sorry but my music teacher has gotten that engraved in my head.

  • this was one of the songs we played in marching band this past year...

  • it's a classical music song by the composer Holst.

    "Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity"

  • What's this about Jupiter? Is that the name of the song or something? It's such a fucking great song!!! Somebody please tell me

  • jewpiteur lol

  • I dont know bout you but like this song reeses make my world go round

  • reeses brings more jolitity than war

  • Haha, excellent point :)

  • Excellent point, nittiegreen :) "reeses brings more jolitity than war"

  • oh shut up XD

  • yeah i just heard this commercial playing in the other room and ran over to see where all the jupiter was coming from

  • yeah i'm pretty sure that's Jupiter, not Mars but my school did Holst too. so i screamed at the t.v. when i heard it. tehe

  • ME TOO XD

  • lol i did the same thing ^_^

  • my marching band did Planets from Holst this year. we kicked some ass. so when i saw this, i was filled with all kinds of memories.

  • My school did too

  • i think jupiter worked just fine

  • Mars: Bringer of War would have worked much better than Jupiter: Bringer of Jolitity. Just my 2 cents...But I do agree, Holst is definitely spinning in his grave...

  • Jupiter, The Planets; Gustav Holst

  • lol I knew someone would ask that

  • I have been craving these ever since i came back from America

they don't sell it in Australia :( well at least i haven't seen them around.

  • resses are the bomb

  • I favorited this just because it has Jupiter in the background.

  • Ditto

  • me too :D

  • yeah me too

  • I bet Holst is rolling in his grave!!!

  • Part of the guitar solo in Gypsy by DIO.

  • its not mars its hershey.

  • holst is rolling in his grave

  • True that

  • Indeed!

  • I played Jupiter in a concert (trumpet) and when we played that part, I really wanted to have a Reeses.

  • amen Holst is my fav composer

  • Typography: AWESOME! Music: AWESOME! Enough said.

  • epic.

  • What song is this?

  • Jupiter by Holst

  • Holst is the man. Props to Mars for sure.
