  • This was my favorite movie since it came out! I didn't even know about phoenix until two years ago. I love the band, the movie and the director a lot more now :) yes, I know she's married to the frontman.

  • ah que de bon moment passer. j aimerais pouvoir un jour aller visiter ou voir le petit trianon

  • Mmm. Deck D'Arcy in tights...

  • OMG.

  • OBJECTION! :L....

  • Sophia Coppola's BF is in Phoenix - he's the father of her kids. That's why they're in the movie.

  • @gammiepie It's also really funny, her new movie, "Somewhere"? Phoenix produced the soundtrack, and has 2 songs on the album, but at the end of the trailer, it says "Featuring music by Phoenix". Damn, it's good to be banging the director. Their kid is going to be crazy talented - Phoenix makes amazing music, and Sofia makes amazing movies. Love it.

  • I had NO idea Phoenix was in Marie Antoinette! I didn't know them yet when I saw the film, so I guess that's why I didn't notice. Pure awesome.

  • Gosh! When I saw guys with guitars in the movie I thought that it might be some band, maybe even them. But when I saw Thomas' face I was so overexcited, they're so adorable :)

  • wait... you're telling me this is Phoenix!?

GET OUT I HAD NO IDEA HOLY SHIT AWESOME

  • i had absolutely no idea Phoenix was in this either! And I own them both too! that's hilarious...

  • Love this scene and of course the hole movie!

Also like the room, but its not the Petit Trianon. Does anybody know where they have taken this scene?

  • what song are they playing?

  • ha ! so cute

  • HOLY SHIT! I had no clue... and I own both the DVD and Phoenix CD... lol

  • Her Children were taken! more like given away! then died after being abused.

then her husband died!, she was next after the amount of money she spent! she made France suffer!

  • @prinzesspegasus You're an idiot. She was young and unfit for the throne because she knew nothing about politics; which, isn't necessarily her fault. If you ask me, they judged her very unfairly.

  • whatever happend to her children??

  • @aea312 Her youngest died just before the Revolution. Her son was initially imprisoned with her but then it was decided that cruelty was a better idea so he was imprisoned in the room below her so that she could hear him cry but never comfort him, he eventually died of a fever.

Her eldest daughter survived the revolution.

  • I love you, Branco

  • wait so is that actually the band members dressed up for the film

    ???

  • @isneezerainbows ha thats great!

  • PHOENIX!!!

  • is that fuckin Phoenix? wow! I don't remember this from the movie---then again its been a while since I last saw MA and I didn't know of Phoenix back then.

I was watching this and was expecting a song of theirs to pop up, then it came upon me that those guys actually ARE the Phoenix guys. Lol!

Makes since that Thomas Mars and S Coppola are a couple.

  • It's weird seeing Branco with hair that isn't crazy. Ha.

  • Haha this was so fucking sweet. I like how they went on to name an album Wolfgang Amadeus afterward

  • Bands today are more interested in the 18th & 19th centuries than ever before.

  • Eu não vi o filme ainda, mas se isto é mostrado está errado, uma Raínha jamais poderia ficar só, sem as suas acompanhantes, em meio a um grupo somente de homens, isto fazia parte da etiqueta da época para preservara a linhagem real!

  • it's Phoenix!!

    ....just sayin'.

  • Very sweet.

  • *___* petit trianon

  • Historically truthful or not, this song is gorgeous and relaxes the mind and soul. And that, quite frankly, is the only thing that matters here.

  • does anybody have this song?

  • @valversal Go to Phoenix's journal, they have the download there. wearephoenix(dot)com/journal. :) Its called "Où Boivent Les Loups."

  • thank you very much :)

  • you're welcome.

  • Well, this wasn't supposed to be a document rather than an imagination. Still, it could've happened. This film deserved a better reception and audience.

  • While there was not as MUCH rule at Trianon there were still rules and it was impossibe to sit on the same chair as her, that is what I ment by close. Also she was never alone, she was always at least one maid with her at all times. But it is a nice little scene cosidering that the movie was not really as good as was expected of it.

  • Hello? This wasn't even on Versailles! This scene is supposed to happen at the Petit Trianon. Marie allowed her private circle of people to be as close to her as obviuosly, she wanted to.

This scene is VERY LIKELY to had happened in real life. Petit TRianon was the queen's personal space in which she did whatever she wanted to. She also had servants and peasants that took care of her garden. OBVIOUSLY, the "12 feet space rule" was'n't exactly as rigid as it might have been at Versailles

  • @nosleep333 The Petit Trianon is part of Versailles, it's just separated from the actual Palace of Versailles. Marie-Antoinette was given it as a gift and then preceded to build her own sanctuary away from the court at the palace.

  • Yeah too bad it didn't tell her story....

  • That is stupid, a commoner was not allowed to sit that close to the Queen of France. The only reason this is in the movie is because Sofia Coppola is fucking one of the guys from this band.

  • If u didn't know which i believe u didn't. Marie Antoinette had her own circle of people she would allow to be around her, these ppl necessarly weren't all royals. Also in this scene they are musicans. Another factoid, commoners were allowed to enter versailles and some one go in hope of seeing the royal family. There was even a public supper, the only requirement was for ppl to dress in court attire, that was it...

  • Hey "akiolust" yuo can go fuck yourself, I have been a Marie Antoinette buff way before this retarded movie came out and servent were not allowed that close to the Queen, the closest you could get to her was about 12 feet, if she had guards.

  • Again...I believe u didnt read my comment. I said Marie Antoinette had her own private society, these included all kinds of persons, actors, singers, musician players like in this scene, If u were a MA buff u should have known this, I'm not basing this just on the movie, but on all the research I've done, including documentaries and books.

  • It's no historical movie ffs! The historical environment is a pretext to tell the story of a woman!

  • actually people were allowed pretty close to her. something similar to this scene could have happened at some point in time.

  • They could have got that close to her only if she had a lady-in-waiting in the room, a pretty stupid rule if you ask me but that is just how things were.

  • I believe it is "Ou Boivent Les Loups".

  • MMMMMMMM what song is this that they are playing???
