great movie, explosive effects totally rock.... of course though, ya know Hollywood always has to screw up something. Odin did not lose his eye in battling ice giants. That's really my only bitch about it. Other than that it was fantastic. Two thumbs up

Aesthetically speaking, it is actually very similar to comic book Thor. Asgard looked as if it was ripped from the pages of an issue of Thor. The characters were true to their comic book counterparts, at least majority of them. It actually captured the feel of the Thor titles, and to be honest, this movie has been more successful in capturing that "comic-loyal" feel more than the X-Men, Spiderman, and even the Ironman movies.
@birdcagemind Ehhh...Asgard looks very different in the comics. Characters were pretty close...Odin was much less of a butthole in the movie. It definately wasn't more loyal than the first Iron Man. Iron Man was about as comic-loyal as superhero movies get. Thor actually deviated from the comic Thor story a lot. Great movie though.
I just saw the movie today as well! Its on point! Good job marvel! I like the fight between Thor and that metal asgardian robot looking thing. And looks better flying than Iron Man does! Or at least thats what I think. Now lets see if the Green Lantern movie coming out in a month or so can impress me just as much or will DC screw it up?
I just saw it today, it was a great movie... Very simplistic romance though but overall experience 9/10, be sure to stick after the credits and I'm not spoiling it, go and see for yourself.

1.) No, but according to mythology, all the scandinavian royal blood lines are descendant from Odin. Even though the gods are not human, they are not inhuman either. They have human shape, scandinavian appearance, all of them, norse names, all of them.

1.) No, but according to mythology, all the scandinavian royal blood lines are descendant from Odin. Even though the gods are not human, they are not inhuman either. They have human shape, scandinavian appearance, all of them, norse names, all of them.
2.) Åsgård is only home to Æser, the aesier. Giants live in jotunheimen, elves in Alfheim.
No africans. And Heimdall, is called Heimdall the white, for his albino-like apperance, and they chose a african actor.. beyond retarded.

If they absolutly HAD to use a african actor to play one of the gods, they chose the most unsuitable god to it.
Even though all the gods have typical nordic apperance, and many blonde hair, Heimdall was literally albino white.

@darrianhull94 I haven't heard any news anywhere about a movie with wasp and giant man. They might be in the actual avengers movie, but nothing has been mentioned anywhere concerning that either. Either way I'm sure it's gonna be worth the wait since Marvel has been doing their own movies the last couple of years now..... Oh yeah, the Spiderman 4 movie is on the way to. But from my understanding this one will explore more of the "ultimate" universe instead of the 616 (as some know it)
