You're absolutelly right, the image of the engine at 0.30s shows that is a straight six engine and the plastic and the piping on the right shows that this is a turbocharged engine with 2 turbochargers, so it´s probably the engine of the BMW E92 3 series 335i, not the M3. The BMW E92 M3 has a naturally aspirated V8 engine. Still... it's a hell of engine.

No, the E46 GTR was a straight six, this is a 4 litre V8. Engineering in the E90/92 has updated a lot of the M components. Its literally night and day comparing an E46 to an E90/92.
