If it's in nollie position then of course it's going to be backside because it's going in the same direction as a normal backside, just in nollie position. It's backside because while he was halfway through his rotation, his back was facing in the direction that he's traveling. If you're boardsliding a rail, and your "front side" is facing the end of the rail then it would obviously be a frontside boardslide. Same applies here, his "back side" was facing forward at his 90 degree mark.
