How does Saturday Savior have over 14,000 listens and Failures big hit (which is a really good song) Stuck on you have just over 7,000? Still Fantastic Planet is one of my top 10 favorite albums, very inspirational.
@pattyboy424 lol this album is from 96 you wont hear this on the radio anymore unless you are one of the lucky ones to have been listening to them in the prime ;)
Oh dear gods thank you for posting this song to Youtube... I just had an emotional flashback, and now I am dealing with the cathartic release. Thanks, Failure was so far ahead of their time, and deserved much more than they ever received.
92% of teenagers have turned to HipHop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos.
Inutero whoever you are thank you so much for posting these tunes from Failure , I cannot find this CD anywhere and miss cranking this on my stereo! My friend has a copy and we shared it amongst 3 apartments and that was ten years ago . This band rocks and should be heard by all you like Rock N Roll. Whhooowoooo!!!
damn another cliche comparing grunge and heroine lol. i guess only heroine addicts could make that real. this music does put you in a state of confoundary from time to time. to hear lyrics about the lower of life does put you in a sense of an open vulnerable feeling. this music can make you escape by knowing the bottom feeling you know? like gettin way too fucked up on your own and thinkin about things. its just that this music isnt a drug. make your own judgement.
it is (apparently) about getting into drugs, the effect of the drugs, getting addicted, going to rehab, and becoming addicted again after rehab. (order of the songs, another space song = high, nurse who loved me = rehab, etc)
@dpowanator The whole album is based around a French cartoon La Planète Sauvage, lit. The Savage Planet, 1973
You will find it in English with the title Fantastic Planet on the internet, and don't watch the remixed version with the new soundtrack, it's garbage day and it doesn't have the same samples that failure used in their album.

only recently introduced to this band, but damn i like their sound. underrated for sure, i thought myself to know a lot of bands but i had never heard of Failure until listening to the APC album with the cover of their song.
I don't think they sound anything like Jawbox, aside from being loud aggressive rock from the 90s. This is much more grunge-influenced, and far more conventional in rhythm and chord voicings. Jawbox would never write anything this boring.
@zapz0rd I agree a great band but not ahead of their time. that would imply that this wasn't an amazing time for music (so much better bands and material back then). Also, you don't have to tear down Nirvana and other bands.
I wonder if the Name and the cover of the Album is any reference to the french animated movie of the same name. Which is Fantastic Planet. Lovely film by the way, Like this record.
Yes, It was a huge inspiration actually. Ken and Greg had the poster overlooking them while they wrote. And I think Ken still keeps it in his bathroom.. Or maybe that was Greg. But the album is mostly about an addiction to opiates.
@Crimson1st I hear that if you play the movie Fantastic Planet with the sound off, and turn ON the sound to the album Fantastic Planet, it matches up.
back in the nineties i checked this album out from the library and stupidly only listened to this track....i didn't want to like the rest of the album because i didn't want to have to add to my 400+ collection of cds. this track brings back memories. so very and wonderfully nineties alternative.
One of my favorite bands and albums from the 1990s. I saw them at the Rock Candy in Seattle during 1996 or 1997... I can't remember. I do remember that they sounded perfect.
sorry for posting so much comments im just pissed off with the way things are now. im like the only person that listens to eccentric bands besides some of my friends but in a way its cool cause you feel that youre a rariety and everyone one else is a pig or a sheep whichever analogy you want to pick from trent reznor or maynard
LOL someone seriously put "and pasta in your bed" on a comment here for the lyrics.
That just made my day.
hahahahahahahahaha
oh yeah, and Failure rocks - even after all this time.

I remember I first heard this record, or rather a song from it, on KCRW's 'Morning Becomes Eclectic' in LA.
I was hooked.
Then the next day or so I hung out with my ex-girlfriend and talked her into buying me it at Tower Records...score.
I proceeded to play it constantly. It stayed in my cd tray for a good eight months straight.
