It's ironic that the production quality of "Sonic BOOM!" is incredible, while the songs are just mediocre, and--let's face it--Paul and Gene are getting old, vocally. On the other hand, the songs on "Anomaly" kick ass while the production quality leaves a lot to be desired. Too bad we fans couldn't mash them together somehow and create an absolutely mind-blowing album.

Ya know, I love Ace. He's one of the reasons Im a musician. But he said he was tryin to recreate his first solo album. He didnt. One of the big things wrong is the Mastering. The mastering on this album SUCKS! Its over compressed. It has no dynamics at all. The EQ of the album is so modern as well. Its mastered like a modern rap or pop song. Its like "Death Magnet" I cant even listen to the album. If you really wanna make a album for your fans. Let me help ya with your next album. I can help you

Why is it that Ace Frehley has to be know either with Kiss or not with Kiss? Kiss and Ace have moved on. Kiss is just as good as it was with Ace, and Ace is just as good as he was with Kiss. The big thing is that with or without Kiss, Ace Frehely will always be known as one of the best lead guitarists of all time.

I liked his album as well, it was very good and I was glad to hear him play again. Although, I am a big kiss fan, even know. I think the line up they have right now is a good one, If you haven't listened to Sonic Boom, then you should. From start to finish that is a damn good cd! Kiss are just on of those bands that are at the very top. They are my favorite next to AC/DC.

That's Ace's famous "Ack!" It's something he does, or used to do a lot. When they were filming "KISS Meets the Phantom" the director noticed it, and made sure he said it every other line. It annoyed Ace.

I love this album. I think it is better than Sonic Boom as well. There is no way Tommy Thayers song writing can replace Ace's. However, if it was not for Gene and Paul keeping Kiss going during the years that Peter and Ace deserted the band, we would not be listening to these albums today. They recently split up because Gene and Paul would not pay them more than a per show or event fee. Ace and Peter were not equal owners in KISS at any point. That is their own fault. Gene and Paul are KISS for all practical purposes. Both are the stars and been there from day 1. I like the original lineup but the current lineup is great too.

I think they are saying they are KISS. Pretty clear to me.  I think they are also saying that the employee status of a major band is not bad. Ace and Peter contributed to the band indeed. They have also been out of the band for nearly 70% of its KISStory. Ace and Peter are part of the KISS nostalgia. Gene and Paul created a concept and their voices, acts, and characters are the band. They turned down Eddie Valen, Samborna, etc. Guys, it is an act on stage to harmony Van Halen plays music

Sonic Boom opened #2 on Billboard overall. The best ever for KISS. Sonic Boom is also number 1 Rock album. Ace's album nowhere to be found. There is valid reasons for that. Ace thought he drove KISS but KISS drove him. What a shame. Maybe his album is selling in Outer Space?

Of course a KISS album will outsell an individual member's solo project. Paul Stanley's Live to Win made it to 53 on the charts, Ace's made it to 27.

Also, I'm sick of hearing about what a success SB is, "Best album in 30 years." Gene and Paul honestly think SB's better than Revenge? I sure don't.

As far as sales goes, it was within 2,000 units first week sales as PC was, which is the hard core KISS fan base, we'll see in a year how it stacks up as far as total sales.

I bought Outer Space single from Itunes. It is a solid song. I don't think I will buy the rest. Bought Sonic Boom and love nearly every song. Don't like the song Stand. It is Rock and Roll Over and a classic or soon to be classic KISS. Saw KISS at Cobo in front of 15,000 (2 shows back to back). It is a shame that Ace was not there.

A few of you commented on my posts implying I am not an Ace fan. I saw Ace in 1975 and have been a fan since. I am a fan of KISS and many other bands from pop to country to jazz. I love a sober Ace and when he plays with other great players. He is much better in KISS than solo. The "Ack" quote is sad since that marks a time when Ace could not even finish his parts. Most of Ace in the Phantom are voice overs. Ace also missed many studio cuts over the years for the same consistent reason.
