  • Best South African movie since Sarafina

  • one of the best films of the last years

  • i seen this movie this summer great movie

  • DIRECTOR Ralph Ziman's vivid, violent, action-packed South African gangster epic makes for exciting big screen entertainment. Highly commercial and hardly politically correct, but reeking with authenticity, the aptly and ironically titled "Jerusalema" offers cinema-goers the same sort of tough, high-energy thrills as crime epics like "Scarface", "American Gangster" and "City of God" while painting a devastating picture of why crime has spiraled out of control in the new South Africa. Recommended

  • i watched yesterday it was superrrrrrr

  • i wanna watch this film but online can someone get it for me ??? :)

  • I watched it last night and there's mixed messages written all over it. In some ways it portrays the SA crime scene to be acceptable, and that the main subject "does what he has to, in order to live." There's scenes where it allows white South Africans to seem like "devils" and evil humans.

It sends mixed messages to international viewers allowing them to believe white SAfricans are greedy because they live in 1st World civilised environments compared to the other half. They worked for it...

  • Crime in SA is a result of rampant inequality though. From the main characters perspective whites are the beneficiaries of an unjust legacy. I dont think the 'movie' is trying to say whites are evil, its just portraying the opinions of the character.

  • True!

  • good movie..so real and so touching..

  • I do not understand this movie? is this movie trying to glorify crime?

and what has this movie got to do with jerusalem?

    Who made this movie?

  • jerusalema is the passage his mother gets him to read in prison.

  • thank you.

  • i bought it in kalahari net , just search for jerusalema. I live in europe and costed me R290 which is about 37$. R180 for shipping and R110 for the movie. Had no problems, took 21 days of shipping.

  • i dont saw this movie but i hope so i viev later. When i look on this trailer i remeber CITY OF GOD. It look as this movie and if is the same good as City of god, it'll be a ver, very good. Sorry for lang :( i try to write good but....

  • THIS MOVIE OWNEDDD, just saw it.

Its intens.. really.. amazing. def worth several prestigious awards, 8,9/10!

  • If you like it so much, why dont you move to hillbrow and live it for real.

Lets see if you nederlanders are as big as your mouth is.

  • idiot, i liked the movie from a cinematic point of view.. i dont actually like what the movie portrays.

  • idiot? Dit vat meer as dit om een idiot te kan wees.

Du bist eine sonnen sheise kind.

Þu ert eins og hálvíti bara með eitt stikki milli eyra þína.

  • When a movie has no point to it, and the name has nothing to with the movie, yet you like the cinematics? then i think you wasted some precious time.

  • the name of the movie is the passage his mother gets the protoganist to read in prison.

  • where can i find this

  • Really great south african movie. Other movies not the same standard but also great are Tsotsi & Hijack Stories.

  • where can see the movie online any sites

  • This is the greatest movie ever to me

  • This is the best South African Movie ever

  • could someone tell me where can I get the music of the film? I´m from Berlin.

Thank you.I like the principal song.

  • it really kicks Tsotsis ass!

  • I think u should understand what the movie is about instead of being a stupid critic, maybe the director should have consulted u 4 advise MAKE YOUR OWN MOVIES Sarah!!

  • The movie falls short of greatness. The white female love interest and the fake Nigerians plyed by South African actors spoil what could have been great. The movie tries to be too many things. Had the director put aside his political agenda which boiled down to "South Africa sucks after 1994" he could have made a great instead of an average film with some good ideas imbedded within it.

The lead actor and the young man who plays him as a teenager are awesome though.

  • I loved this film. It represents a new stage in SA cinema, films for us by us..that are entertaining first and foremost. A few small problems technically, and the subplot of the Jewish girl was not that good; the glorification of crime is perhaps a tad irresponsible in an SA context. But overall what a gr8 job, plz give us more like this. Well done to all involved... what next?

  • haha ok hah and why the need to shout haha

  • I just watched this movie and I have to say, it's better than Tsotsi by far. This is the greatest South African Movie ever!

  • Hi there..

Where can i watch the movie online....

  • how about u go out and watch the movie in the cinema or get the REAL DVD

  • Helllllllooooooooo how about you tell me where to get the REAL DVD, cause i do not have a problem purchasing the DVD, and by the way the movie is so not out in the states...Okay...

Fuck people with problems...or no fuck you!!!

  • no fuck u pirating my dads movie hah the movie has just been sold to a distributer in the U.S so it'l be out some time in 2009

  • I have not done such a thing, whats your deal...you need attention!!!

Well because im a decent,well-mannnered young lady...Ill wait for the DISTRIBUTOR!!!

Thanks anyway, and sorry for the FUCK OFF!!!

  • I was telling somebody exactly the same thing last week. This is the greatest South African movie to date. Tsotsi doesn't even compare.

  • I have to see this. But have to say Apartheid is not to blame for everything. Since 1994 the country has become poorer, has corruption and has failed its people. That is why the streets of Joburg look like this and that people have nothing to live for and people don't value their lives.

  • Brilliant, brutal, and beautifully capturing the blighted soul of a culture losing its core of ubuntu. South African cinematic talent builds on its success of the Oscar winning "Tsotsi" in a celebration of gansta culture. Watch it for a glimpse of the realities of life in grimey inner city of Jozi, the tarnished city of gold.

  • ''they took everyhting from us'' ?

what did they have before the white man came? cars? roads? dont talk shit

  • They took theyre freedom from the i guess, this film looks good

  • they had MORE freedom before. Now they themselves (the blacks) cannot risk it outside at night, because they are murdered just like the rest of us.

  • atleast we had freedom, love and peace..thats what

  • The South Africans are back with another hit. I love you guys. Its gonna take time, but one day the world is gonna know of the abundance of talent from directing to acting. This is another nice piece. Proudly South African.

  • Looks awesome! i'm gona go see dis! Brilliant cause it not 1 sided!

  • TO Nasdaq. The movie is alright as it is. Putting more of beautiful South Africa in the movie would be a lie according to the context of this movie. And that would mess up the greatness of it.

Its been a long time since I watched a movie that I enjoyed every minute of it. I give Jerusalema 10/10.

  • I am goin to watch it tonight

  • Bold and fresh, this gritty story of crime in SA is compelling. Strong moments of humour in a movie that is 100% authentic. The acting is a tour de force and completely blew me away. This is a significant movie that deserves to do exceptionally well. It made me feel immensely proud to be South African and watch the excellence produced by local filmmakers. If you are interested in Africa or South Africa you have to see this film.

  • hopefully it will do well, its in the process of nominations for an oscar award!! im very proud (my uncle wrote and directed it) but i wish i had had more to do with it because i must say its certainly in my top 5 films!

  • luks lyk yizo thou!

  • it looks very dope hey

    cant wait to see it

  • Looks pretty good.
