it is wel worth the perseverance to get to ride the rollers, you get a much smoother ride than turbo trainers which tend to be rather choppy to the pedaling action.
No one just gets on roller and rides 1st time, we all go through this for a few tries. My money is on thoes who are posting scarchy comments, cant even ride a bike let alone one on rollers. Stick with it fella.
No need any key, just bring out the bike and ride that's the best and the idea of a bike is to ride it outdoors. A waste of money buying all this machines
@zepp3lin I race. And live where it rains everyday... except July and August. When it snows I am subjected to trainers and rollers indoors. Skipping workouts is not an option.
That looks so rediculously hard to do for the first time I'm going to say you're being hard on yourself for thinking your attempts were sad. My attempts would have had me in an ambulance.

you can just hear him sayin "what a fuckin useless piece of shit" when he's holding his head in his hands at the end - funniest thing i've seen on youtube in ages :-)))
@esemoose Its not a fixed gear bike why wouldnt he have breaks, How would he stop? and It doesnt matter how you hold drop downs as long as your comfortable It is also his first time so dont give him shit about it
Se e' la prima volta che salite bisogna cominciare tenendosi aggrapati con una mano a qualcosa tipo la maniglia di una porta, dopo una decina di minuti quando si prende una velocita' costante piano piano si afferra il manubrio con entrambe le mani.
yeah why use the toe clips? I'm shocked you can stay upright with still but use a door way next time and yeah your rollers suck get some kreitlers..your wheel shouldn't get stuck in the side like that, you're gonna ruin your wheel.
I can understand many advantages of such a system e.g. riding while not riding if its too hot or wet etc.. However.. why not change it to keep the bike stable like supports Or not even use your bike, use a training bike instead
This is obvious. This guy had a problem with balance. It is common behave of children when they learn to ride a bike : If they are falling to one side they pull the handlebars to keep the balance. Rollers are perfect to help you unlearn this. I was able to ride my bike on rollers after 3mins of practice and there is one thing that helped me : Never look on your front wheel, its better to look ahead and only at intervals check if you are still in the middle of the roller :-) And never surrender!
@Newtttton The rear rollers have a chain-like device similar to an actual bicycle, which rolls the front tire. This is so that the rear tire doesn't sway back and forth, leading the cyclist to pivot on his front tire, and immediately falling over and destroying his bike after a few tries.
The key to riding on rollers successfully is to keep looking forward into the horizon and pretend you're riding to that point. The reason why this guy falls so much is because he's stopping. When you're losing balance, the instinctual thing to do is to stop pedaling and coast - but that's the wrong thing to do, if you keep pedaling that will actually help you retain balance. My biggest mistake was I kept looking down to make sure my front wheel was centered. Keep your head up and you'll be fine.
he's pedaling then stops, that's y he's falling all the time. and i think he lock his rear wheel on to tight so it's hard to pedal so he's always falling
One thing to remember when riding rollers is to keep your cadence up. You will be unstable while you are going slow but once you get up to speed the bike and the rollers have a somewhat gyroscopic effect keeping you in the center. Also try to pedal in circles instead of mashing the pedals down. Be smooth on the rollers and soon you will being going faster out on the roads.
Hey, practice makes perfect and I respect that he put this online so everyone can see how hard it really is when you first hop on rollers. I ate shit the first time... I didn't record it... But I haul ass now:D
I would recommend you remove the cages for rolling, that way you won't have to go down with the bike at each fall. Also, start slow, and gradually increase the speed as the more comfortable you get. Lastly, as you're doing in this vid, don't give up: practice is everything. Good idea to watch this film and see where you will want to correct. Best of luck! :)
@MrAgroovy I think that Rollers are for someone who has already ridden at least 1000 miles and is absolutely confident and stable on bicycle. Otherwise I dont see any advantage of such an investment into this thing.
@jjermzz have you thought of the fact that even in your own house, you can seriously injure yourself? he just has to fall of that bike and hit the frame or something with his head and - he's gone. Safety first, not only with ATF, b ut also with sex and sports
Dude, that was hilarious. I especially like the part where the front wheel get's stuck at around frame 1:25 and 2:14. Nice mattress by the way... I hope that you post a follow up video once you learn how to ride the thing.
