@detroitsbest Well, personally I like hitting those little towns. It's interesting to see what's there. The franchises and mom and pops. I also like seeing how much development is going on and asking the locals what do people do when I get a chance to talk to them. So to me it's an adventure.
Also it's interesting to experience the difference (and sometimes similarities) in people from the larger cities and small towns.
I love trucks loved them my whole life and i know how much a driver makes per mile there's alot of money in trucking some companies are unionized some are not ..
I just started driving locally hauling hazmat, mostly sulfur, but sometimes lime. anywhere from 250 a day to 400. I like driving, but its a constant ratrace with sulfur - if you arnt waiting on them. Thinking about going otr or regional, we'll see. I like your videos and look forward to them.
This driver is right. I knew what to expect when I first started driving. My health is the first priority and the most important. All I want out of this is have a blessed career, a safe record, and a bright future.
im 18 and im going to get a loan to pay for trucking school in a few weeks. I plan on driving asap, anybody have advice? i plan on trucking during night and college during day, i want to start local...
@BIILYBOB999 hey, I wish you the best of luck in your trucking career and in college. My advice is to just drive smart and safe, keep your logbooks up to date, keep your truck/trailer inspected after a trip and before one. keep a safe distance and no tail-gaiting. And maintain good health. Best of luck to you. God speed.
@haynes1776 thank you for the great advice, i really apprieciate it! I'll be starting training next summer, apparently i need to be 21 to drive out of state and i'm only 18 turning 19 december... so I guess i'm just gonna hold ff the training for a while...
@BIILYBOB999 Hey, all in due time. its good that you are going to college as well. When i went to trucking school(roadmaster) in Jacksonville, I had a hard time learning to operate a 18-wheeler. it was all new to me. I had to drop the first two classes because of tution problems and work. The 3rd class i made it. It took 3 classes and 10 months of frustration to acomplish the impossible: gradulating and getting my certification from Roadmaster: October 2004. I thank myself that I did not quit
im trying to find out what a good starting pay is? & also if trans am trucking is a good company to drive for. Anybody know? Iv seen starting pays from .25 to .30 is that good?
Hey Larry and Lifesatrucker, this is a really nice, cool interview. This Brother liks his chosen profession as well as he has a lot of respect for the family run business that he works for. Very positive, keep up the good work.
This is an awesome vid! It's so good to see someone doing what they love for a living when so many work jobs they hate. I go to CDL training next month starting with USA Trucking.
A trucker goes into a whorehouse and hands the Madam five hundred dollars. He says, "I want your ugliest woman and a bologna sandwich." The Madam says, "For that kind of money, you could have one of my finest girls and surf and turf." The trucker says, "I'm not horny, I'm homesick."
how do you clean yourself? i'll tell you. 1st you take naked trucker showers with portable fertilizer sprayers, the cheap ones from Wals mart. 2nd take some babywipes, and 3rd take a shit bucket and piss bottles. make sure you wipe your ass every am with baby wipes and your balls. TAKE those steps once a week and you'll be the cleanest driver out there. I KNOW I AM!!! and i'm a flatbedder! FUCKIN RENEGADE WRANGLER!!!
i like that guy. i used to think truck drivers didnt make shit but i didnt care i still wanted to drive. thats how i am and thats how it will always be.
Thank's for putting this up, I start Trucking School in the Spring, and I'll remember what you guy's have said. God Bless.
