There used to be a time when I was selfconcious about running around in just a pair of trunks. Then I grew up a little and put on 100 pounds and realized that really there aren't a lot of ppl who care. Yeah you will get the occasional glance or comment but if you walk around with confidence not much negativity will occur.  IMO all guys should have to stay fully dressed at all times, and all women should just wear bikinis in the summer, who cares if they have some extra junk in their trunk.
