I have one of this , i tested output temperature with a digital infrared laser thermometer , result are the same temperature BUT in true life i realy feel a fresh air on my face , not air-condition but better than air-fan !!!! i use-it all the past summer ! nice product for 10$
I'm looking high & low for a very small AC & *thought* this would be the one to get until I read here that it's useless in high humidity areas. (which is exactly what I'll be getting this summer) I guess there really *is* no product this small that can truly cool you off w/o just recycling hot air.... =/
False! It does not work anywhere. In high humidity climates this is useless. In dryer climates surprisingly effective. I hate when advertisers say anything just to sell a product. Do what you say and say what you do. No more no less. Integrity is a dying trait.
Air will be more humid coming out, decreasing your ability to sweat and lose heat the regular way. If this worked then window AC Units would use this technology. Ooops they use massive amounts of electricity instead.
@maeon3 Actually, the Handy Cooler takes the heat energy from the air and uses that energy to evaporate the water molecules stored in the sponge. The air coming can potentially be more humid but the product doesn't really promise that it will dry the air, now does it?
@surgednb Well Said, I prefer *Refridgerated ;-)* over *Evaporative 8-(* ... Evaporative is a Humid Cool, Humidity is what makes hot summer days and cool summer nights unbearable(Humidity that is) for some people. This is sad because if it doesn't use some energy if not a lot, it's usualy just not worth the comfort you are trying to seek. Just My thought!!!!

>>>This Unit is an "Evaporative Cooler"<<<
This is "Not an Air Conditioner" it does not remove water or humidity from the air, It adds to it... Make it known before marketing!
