  • HELP! I recently went on a raw diet and noticed that I have an overwhelming urge to clap! This is especially embarrassing since I work in a library. Don't even ask about the funeral I went to on Friday. The deceased's widow came up to me and said "he's gone, he's really gone!". Oh yeah, I started clapping.   • I never ever said fluoride was good, so whoever told me I was encouraging it can bite my butt. I found a GREAT RESOURCE! It's a book called, " GOOD TEETH BIRTH TO DEATH" by Gerard Judd. Look it up. One of the BEST things you can do for your teeth no matter what you eat is to sip and rinse with water right away. Fluoride inhibits the enzymes you need to restore your flexible enamel and also causes tissue detachment. Poison Poison Poison.

    The title was misleading - A Raw food diet doen't necessarily mean demineralization - look at the calcium in spinnach. There could be many causation factors and I would go see a nutritionist with a medical training.

  • My dentist tells me that fresh foods like fruits & vegetables are not harmful to the teeth if we brush & floss regularly, but floury & sugary things are harmful, especially when left to dissolve in our teeth & gums. MILK also contains sugars and should be rinsed from your teeth! He says that when eating citrus fruits to rinse after and not brush the teeth for an hour or so before or after eating them. Fruit & vegetables are very good for us. Rotting meat packed between our molars is just wrong.

  • Sure there is a very simple answer to this.... the acid in fruit damages your teeth over time and causes cavitys....doesn't matter whether it's organic or not. The lack of fat soluble vitamins mainly A,D and K2 cause demineralisation.....as well as salads and foods such as lemon / limes ,apple cider vinegar these all contribute to cavitys. You should tell the person to read weston prices book, nutrition and physical degeneration.....that'll explain it all very clearly.

Some posters are better than others, have all their story details ready to go. When you get a claim like from this Aurelia woman, instead of just taking it as truth, please in future ask for proof: photos of their crumbling teeth with current newspaper's date showing;

I did that with a guy who told me he had multiple organ failure and other devastating things happen when he tried vegan; I asked for exact diagnosis and such, and how meat cured him, and he changed his tune, tried to dismiss what he'd said before, said he was raising his child vegetarian, and so on.     About my brother's teeth, I'm not claiming eating animal products caused it, but that he's NOT vegetarian and got this problem; there are other issues, so such proof of his tooth loss isn't required of me here, and he wouldn't cooperate anyways. Please people, don’t take what people say as fact, use your own sense and logic and ask for proof when you suspect deception. A species that crumbles and falls ill without drinking the milk of another species from cradle to grave? Think!

  • I don't think this is caused by veganism unless she's eating a strange nutrient lacking diet; one of my brothers is not vegan or vegetarian, eats dairy dailly (sadly enough), little meat, and he has this teeth problem; I'm vegan strictly now for going on 3 years and was mostly for 23 years before that and my teeth are strong. So something else is going on there I think. High calcium veg foods and sunshine or vitamin D2 supplement may be lacking?

I would like to know, to help my brother with the same problem, and he's not vegan or vegetarian. It's truth we want, not crazy manipulation from meat organizations.

  • @jrbowen81 Prior to pasteurization consumption of raw dairy products was clearly linked to campylobactor, E. Coli and other pathogens. Pasteurization safely removes this risk. The historical statistic that you've described is true, however does not account for those who passed away due to pathogen exposure. And OF COURSE, someone could have a baby outside of a hospital. That's not the issue. Why are you bringing up irrelevant arguments?

  • Some people need raw dairy and/or grass fed meat in addition. When I was high fruit vegan it messed my teeth up and the enamel as well. I've since added the above, they are getting better. Raw vegan isn't for everyone.

  • Hi Kevin. I have 2 small children and we have gone vegan once and raw once and both times they got cavities. I believe everyone has their own individual needs and we must be open to change as you said. Digestive issues can make it very difficult to absorb the calcium and protein in raw food, and therefore, you must resort to other foods such as raw fermented milk, which is very easy to digest for many since it is fermented. The lactose and casein has been pre-digested. We are all different.

  • Eating meat and dairy are HORRIBLE for your teeth! Ingesting these products makes your blood acidic. The only way to neutralize the acid is the phosphate in your body. Where does the phosphate come from? TEETH AND BONES. (calcium-phosophate). When the phosphate is removed you end up peeing out the calcium.

  • @llfriends YES I would say diet is important too. Love of self would dictate a healthy diet and Love of others would dictate a vegan diet. Raw or not Raw seems to be a personal thing, although I feel its more loving for the planet to be Raw. Have you seen DurianRider on tube ??? I was surprised to see he has a high raw vegan carb diet high mostly from fruit and he posted his results of his ph test and he was totally alkaline... Sooooo I dont know anymore. he is 34ish years old.

  • Oops sorry, that wasent me. My advice would be to go on a juice fasting or feasting for at least 10 days.ive been doing it for 30 days and i had amazing results. Also a very very good therapy is the oil pulling.Have you heard of it?

  • @PurePoison1981 I have heard of oil pulling - just collected more residue in my mouth and didn't work out for me (tried with coconut and sesame)..when I read about it though, it sounded like the panacea.

  • Though I can't say for this, but I've heard that most of tap water/bottled water have pH that are neutral - if you can manage to drink more alkaline water, I think it can help - this is something I'd like to try for myself as well. And of course, one can't drink this water, eat crappy processed food and expect a good result. I see it as just another supplementary help.

  • I've heard that bones regenerate by itself in an alkaline environment. The idea make sense to me, because tooth sensitivity and such is caused by the acidic environment of the mouth - and this "acidic" environment in the mouth and blood is caused by refined sugar, flour and other types of food that have been too processed and stripped of natural nutrients - to me this is the reason why good diet makes so much sense in healing tooth decay.

  • @PurePoison1981 How does potato help? What I know so far is that it is mostly carbohydrates - turns to acidic, because the bacteria in the mouth consumes carbohydrates and excretes acid.

  • I dont know if it is TRUE for I have not investigated it fully, BUT I heard that one cause for teeth rotting is the emotion of 'Lack of SELF LOVE'. You could change the diet as much as you want but unless the emotion of 'Lack of self love is dealt with then it will always persist. We pass our emotions onto our children hence the 2 year old has same problem ! I think health foods can cure but at some point it will manifest again if emotional cause not dealt with x

    My bones have been growing at alarming rates, I am only in my mid-30's but my teeth are coming in strong;

    Here is my formula;

    1- moderate sunlight/ fish oil

    2- moderate animal protein

    3- moderate animal/plant fats

    4- colloidal trace minerals or goat products(also good protein and fat)

    5- light exercise(walking/yoga, ect)

    6- breathing exercises

    7- ask the universe/the mind behind time and space for help...

  • I was on a vegetarian diet for several years and a raw vegan diet for about a year and also had problems with cavities and gum disease. I went on a Primal/Paleo type diet about a year and a half ago and no longer have gum disease or had a cavity since. I just got my teeth cleaned a couple of days ago and the hygienist was amazed especially since I drink coffee regularly and red wine on occasion and do not use fluoride.

  • plants today just dont carry as much nutrients as they used to. making it simple, the nutrients in our soil come from rock and bio matter. soil microbes break up the rock and potential matter and turn it into a bio available liquid form, which plants pull through there roots.

  • Here is the answer: Fermented Skate fish oil. It is also called activator X by some people.

    It is an animal product, but it is raw as it is fermented. It totally fixed my tooth sensitivity and helped my body heal small cavities. Costs roughly $10-15 per month.

    We are all genetically different, but give skate fish oil a try.

  • Also- foods that leave acid ash- after digested- force your body to use the mineral stores of calcium from your bones AND YOUR TEETH. These foods are laid out in the book Acid Alkaline by Herman Aihara. If only raw food vegans would grasp some of the macrobiotic principles for balance in energies and acid/alkaline balance they would do much better. No need for animal foods if you combine raw foods and macrobiotic foods. Raw vegans have all the consequences of an overly yin/acid forming diet.

  • I am a dental assistant and I see decay in the teeth of meat eaters on a regular DAILY basis. This issue is not about protein. It is about acid. Acid is either left as a waste product by the bacteria breaking down the left over food debris on your teeth, or the foods and drinks you are consuming are acidic in their undigested state (wine!! citrus!!), also sugars of any kind creeping into the cracks and crevices of your teeth (bacteria leave acid waste- flouride disables their digestion).

  • @FoodOrFail Oh I was not encouraging fluoride at all. It does disable the digestion process for bacteria, but it's totally a poison and it's probably the vegan/veg that still uses fluoride causing the trouble. Get off the fluoride, eat veggies/fruit, rinse with water while you eat and after you eat to get the acids off the teeth immediately.

  • Chocolate along with organic foods in general helped get my side front teeth from a slight yellow to a bright white to match the white fronts. :)) chocolate (cacao chocolate)=magnesium=goodness. I would recommend silicon as well. to any1 else out there dealing with teeth or bone strength. silicon helps alot with strengthening the bone setup and magnesium is just the shit :))

  • I've been eating mostly raw and mostly plant foods for about a year. My teeth have generally been good until 6 months ago I had a filling replaced and the tooth rotted under the new filling and now supposedly is hopeless. I had decay under another filling, had it replaced last week and that one is now also sensitive. I'm eating raw grassfed dairy, raw eggs, bone broth and grassfed meat and hoping it will improve. I've been vlogging about it, too.

  • @thetruthergirls i posted some info that helped me dramatically with whitening my teeth. Silicon and magnesium are so crucial with bones strength. Imnot saying milk is or isn't. But pasteurization kills the enzymes that allow for calcium. Organic or not. Unless your a rare case. Anyway. I feel a slight bit taller as well. Literally. And my teeth all match up as white color.

It's probable rotting meat, high bacteria on the teeth, or most probable the fact they drink a lot of sugary stuff, this usually is the case for bad teeth. And not eatting enough greens, another reason for bad teeth not enough greens. Possible eating a lot of raw deserts... stuff like this. You could be 100% raw and do it wrong!

Not an anwer at all really, he says "you need to change something but I'm not sure what" Here's an idea, follow the advice of your doctor and eat some animal protien. Eat some eggs and meat, they have the nutrition and minerals you are lacking. Just do it, your current diet is harming you and your child.

Cod liver oil Nordic Naturals, fermented foods you can still eat raw just eat raw fermented foods like sauerkraut, raw milk kefir or yogurt. More magnesium, try herbal nettle infusions for mag. Also in the meantime try supplementing with floradix mag/zinc/D, you can give this and the cell salts and cod liver oil to your child as well. Also high vitamin butter and Grass fed ghee.

  • I was having the tooth sensitivity for about 10 years and was on prescription sensitivity toothpaste. Its helped but did not get rid of it. I cut out eating pineapple, orange juice and starting brushing my teeth with a product called tooth soap. Within about 1 month my teeth no longer hurt. They feel much cleaner also. No I dont work for them, I am just glad that I dont suffer with this issue anymore.

  • Candida is a fairly easy fix. Eat raw greens(collards, kale, spinach), sprouts, nuts and seeds and stay off all sweets! Even on a raw food diet fruits should be eaten on rare occasions. No honey, agave, sugar, fruit for at least 1 month then eat these things in moderation.

  • @Mekelsior fat is VITAL to the body, that is why she is in poor shape. vitamins D, A. K and E all require saturated fat in the body to assimilate them. Fat is energy/fuel for the body and has essential building blocks. Carbohydrates turn to sugar which in turn makes us fat. Sugar makes you "fat" not fat from healthy animal and plant sources.

  • Oh my God please tell me me what to do for my Candida? I want to be raw but they are telling me that fruits feed Candida. I am taking probiotics and getting colonics but I'm really torn on the diet solution as far as raw goes

  • @linaeable Check out Dr Doug Graham, what you do in short is eliminate fat from your diet, keep it below 10%. Read the 80/10/10 diet written by the before mentioned and be amazed. Also check out Dr Doug McDougall "The Starch Solution" you can also see a presentation with the same name here on youtube. Candida is needed in the body, but they overproduce if you get to much fat in the system that blocks the uptake of sugars, remove the cause "Fat" and the body comes into balance again. =)

  • Recently I had a tooth ache. I eliminated all sugary things from my diet for a few days and wahlah, tooth ache gone. Lots of things, even good things like fruit can cause tooth issues. A friend had her 2 year old's 4 front teeth turn dark and crumble. It happened after a high fever. The adult teeth came in fine though. Kevin is right, the child's adult teeth can still be saved if she figures out the deficiency. Good call Kev.

    I agree with Johny V on the fact that making sure your child is well nourished is far more important than any possible harm done to a goat or chicken that is cared for, protected and loved in exchange for their milk or eggs.

    Since I've gone vegan (not raw anymore), I keep getting dreams that my teeth are falling out. I can just reach in and pull molars out without wincing. Man am I ever upset when I wake up in the morning... but my kids love it when I tell them about it.

  • @AMVayanefan You should start taking vitamineral green, eating one head of romaine lettuce a day in a smoothie, take horsetail, take udo oil 3-6-9 blend(essential fats), take 5,000IU of d3 and get sunlight exposure, and brush your teeth with baking soda and use a product called peri gum. I can guarantee you that your teeth will get stronger if you do all that. All these people saying you need animal fats are crazy! The body makes saturated and monounsaturated fats from carbohydrates.

Fats that Heal and Fats that kill. If you take the essential fats with your greens you will absorb all the minerals. Don't be misled by all these people telling you that you got to eat all these animal products till the cows come home. People need to get there facts straight. When you think calcium think green!

  • Kevin one thing I would have mentioned in the video is dental hygeine. It is very possible that her diet is not the cause of her teeth problem at all. There is a lot of people who healthy healthy teeth and eat the standard american diet. They brush there teeth! I would recommend brushing with baking soda and using Peri Gum. It is a herbal tooth liquid with hot peppers and herbs that heal the gums, increase circulation, and fight bacteria. A kid cured his cavity with baking soda. Brush and Brush!

  • Good answer Kev. If her kid's teeth are crumbling s/he could also suffer from malnutrition. Give that kid some animal products like some yogurt or eggs from a humane farm. If her kid is malnourished s/he could be taken away by child services & the mom could be jailed (it's happened before). If raw is not working for you, don't stick with it until all your teeth fall out & your kid wastes away. BTW 2yrs is too old to breastfeed. Give that poor kid some real food.

  • @Annahealthseeker It was not stated that the Mother breastfed her child EXCLUSIVELY. It was only said that she breastfed. U r out of sync w/most of the world in your statement that breastfeeding beyond 2 yrs. is not beneficial.

  • Everyone metabolizes food uniquely and need different grades of food/fuel. Animal protein will for sure fix that problem if she's a fast oxidizer type indeed. But raw is for everyone, always.

  • I had problems with hot and cold when i use to whiten my teeth but stopped doing that .. when I went vegan and mostly raw ... I dont have that problem anymore .. but i do sometimes get a sharp pain in my teeth if i eat dry fruit like cranberries .. it gets stuck in my teeth and hurts so bad i have to go floss and brush right away so i just stopped eating it ..

That little carnivore! :) Ive had a 1 tooth problem, in it crumbling I think it was related to acids & also some people take to good of care of their teeth in that they brush off all the enamel & the teeth become dry like & almost powdery, the too has seemed to heal though in that it has a more glossy feel again :) cant really say what helped though.

  • One other thing that helps oral health is an adequate serum levels of vitamin C. This helps keep it cleaner in there and helps gum health.

    If you have teeth problems, especially protein type vegans.

    1. Get usable forms of fat soluble vitamins from animal sources

    2. Get sunshine for Vitamin D or supp

    3. Cut carbs and eat more vegetables for carb sources

    4. Get adequate amounts of vitamin C

    5. Cut processed foods out

    6. Watch teeth transform

  • Her being a protein type on a vegan diet is a disaster waiting to happen. I know that when I started eating animal foods again and taking vitamin D my teeth are in the best condition I can remember. They are rock solid, firm as ever, can chew hard things and not sensitive.

    Gotta get the fat soluble vitamins and cut carbs! Vitamin A (not beat-carotene, the real usable A), Vitamin D, K2 (the animal form of K) to actually lay down the mineral IN the bone matrix.

  • It's pretty obvious what the problem is. This women and child need grass-fed animal foods ASAP!

    Teeth problems are due to:

    1.)Not enough fat soluble vitamins only found in animal foods, especially Vitamin A. Vegans don't realize that, especially for those of European descent, cannot convert beta carotene well enough to get enough A. Milk, butter, cream, cheese, eggs, yogurt, meat, etc. is what she needs.

    2.)Not enough Vitamin D for mineral absorption.

    3.)Too many carbs, especially simple carbs.
