Had a couple of beers together caught a few sand sharks -- hit the surf at Cresent Beach, headed back to Palatka. Yep, those were the days my friend. Those were the days of the rednecks.
To the most humble "Swingin Little Guitar Man" superstar I've ever met. You signed all my CD's, shared a few Guinness, exchanged our golden virginia and let me jam your guitars all in the North East. There is no replacement. Love & Magic to all your family. Chris G
yeh he came and camped outside my flat for two nights when he was touring with john renbourne, Shared a couple of meals, played backgammon and he even showed me how to play a couple of his tunes. Bin playing his stuff ever since!
i remember seeing isaac play, i think it was in south shields, in an outdoor place. i was about 7/8 so its around 10 years ago. i love his music, think he's one of the best guitarists i've ever heard and its sad how little he is known.
A friend of mine took me to see Isaac at Colchester Arts Centre. It was the first time I had heard of him. This particular piece completely blew me away. No other guitarist has left the impression on me that Isaac did. Absoultely gobsmackingly fantastic. He left me speechless. Thanks for posting.
Amazing and beautiful! Saw Isaac a few times performing at the Red Lion in Trimdon. Still have his tapes and must have played them a thousand times.God bless you Isaac, I miss you.
Back in 1989, when I was a 15 year old aspring singer/ guitarist/songwriter, I scored a short 20 minute set at Poynton Folk Club, Chesire. Turned up to discover I was one of the support slots for Isaac Guillory. After I played, he came up and said "Just remember this kid, keep going, keep going, things do get frustrating at times, but keep on going....".
It is because of those words I am still inspired to keep on playing and writing at 33 years old. Cheers Isaac!
any idea what amp and effects he used, he came to stay with me when touring with john renbourne and showed me a few chords! I miss him he was the best!
I remember the last time I say him playing Live it was the Budleigh in Wallsend Newcastle upon Tyne. He was an amazing guitar player and singer. He was a very modest man who likes a pint of Guiness and would always take the time to talk to players and non players.Even though he was very ill at the time and did'nt do his full set. The performance was simply inspirational.Thank you Isaac for opening the doors in our hearts.

Hybrid picking, using thumb fretting to pick out the bass line, reggae style and singing at the same time.
Isaac - you are sorely missed and one of a kind

Genius is a much over-used word, but Isaac had it. Only got to see him once and its imprinted on my memory.
Hopefully there is more footage and a DVD can be released.
