both of my parents have 63 mercedes and they sound roughly the same. it sounds like in this video the clk 63 sounds different. is it because the length of the exhaust system(different exhaust) or is it an aftermarket system.

And the safety car is trimmed for track use, I'd guess they fitted a racing exhaust to it.

i know the safety cars are tuned for tack use and all the 63's have the same engine. and since i hear them on a regular basis i think i would know that they all sound generally the same. and what could i possibly have said that got six thumbs down and my comment removed i mean i only speak my opinion.

Even if the 63s have the same engine (I'm not one to question this, I don't know), you could expect very different sounds as they probably have different exhaust, intake etc. I didn't vote your comment down, I just stated. And your comment was pretty obviously just to brag about your parents having expensive cars, maybe that was why it was voted down... :P

and yes they have different exhausts and intakes but they all sound generally the same. and the 63 series of mercedes cars are all powered by a normaly aspirated 6.3 litre engine.

I think they start from the street legal CLK AMG, they mount a more performing exhaust (maybe removing the catalyzer, not yet mandatory in a race car) and they kill the speed limiter so that the car can catch up fast and keep the pace, but for the rest it's a Mercedes AMG

No, it's an SL 63 AMG, I'm not sure of this but I'd guess they've fitted a racing exhaust system, done a little tuning on the engine and probably stiffened the suspension, changed the tires and maybe done some aerodynamic changes.
