@GospelMusicians lol Jamal u're so funny.I got the learn 2 play by ear dvd's 1&2 to get started and not just learning but its funny at teh same time.Ive seen otheres dvd's that may be good but boring dudes!
now that u said that, I just pictured a Yamaha keyboard with the Jamal Hartwell name on the back, and it sounds like a hot brand, like saying talking about Mac computers, Adidas, etc...it would be hot!
hey Jamal what type of lead sound were you using on the Korg Triton in 8:07-8:51. And what was the left hand chord you did in 9:34 I am desperate for that because it sounds so phat..... plus God is using you so yea... I need to know...lol
I don't remember the lead sound actually. I know it's under the synth lead category. As far as the chord at 9:34, it was just a tritone in the left hand (E-Bb)
Love this clip man! Jamal, can you enlighten me further in regards to 'Urban Worship' sounds like a Fresh way to bring in his presence...just like a definition of 'Urban Worship' & how to do it seeing as ur the inventor & forever this will be accredited to you! Luv u bro....In Christ. DingoDeans
what was that voicing u use in 5:45-8:05 in this groove ...... cause I have a Korg Triton Le. So I was wondering what was the name of that groove nd does my keyboard have that same sound
Not sure the actual voicing. I know it was in the electric keys section and it's a default for the Triton, so I'm sure it's in there. Remember though....two people could be playing the same sound, but it's HOW you play it.
I have a way of playing a keyboard and making it sound as if it's a rhodes.
All the questions you are asking I teach every lick, trick and hit on my DVD's
We do this music at church too!!! Music is so soul soothing and relaxing to the mind!! Now that the church has embraced "grooving," "head bopping." and "finger snapping" music praise and worship will be taken to another level!!! I have a DigiTech Talker and have used it in church and it was loved by all!! Raised a few eyebrows at 1st but it was all done with taste, class and for The Lord!!
Mayes Temple Community Church in Marion,OH... Where Bobby Floyd and Victor Floyd were once the church organists. Their mother Vera is the church mother and still plays. Bobby once toured with Ray Charles in Europe. The Floyd's are some bad boys!! They share too with other musicians!!! I appreciate your willingness to share and show!! God will bless you!!
yeap i think I gotcha!! Ive got a tritone extreme and wanted to know what voicing you were using!! hey do you teach gospel piano like one on one? Im from New Zealand! and we love your music!! =)

what key were u guys in
talentedmusicplayer 3 years ago
F Minor
GospelMusicians 3 years ago
so you guys were playng in f minor but u were in the key of Ab............ were u guys also using tritones
talentedmusicplayer 3 years ago
F minor is the relative minor of Ab. Yes you can do an Ab scale with this groove, but we are really in F-Minor or F-Minor blues scales.
And yes, those were basically tritones!
