Paganism may be purer, but it's still fairytale made up bullshit for people who are terrified of reality. Not that there's anything wrong with that, faith is fine as long as it doesn't adversely effect other people, which it usually does. The sooner people abandoned the Abrahamic faiths, the better the world would be.
oh man! i wish i could have been at the records store in there.. guy pulls out original BM releases on vinyl.. that stuff is expensive as hell today...
well, i quess the right way to put it is : the black or dark gravity. i don't know. i mean its just a norwegian ecspression. greetings from norway man.
There weren´t many satanist within the norwegian scene at that time. However, media were writing and talking about "satanic milieu" or "ritual satanist", because of atractivity of such a titles. In fact, most of that guys were enemies of christianity because they have meant Norway was forced to become christian country, or they simply disliked the lifestyle of major society. There weren´t such a things like real ritual, black masses etc.
@Apostasy13 You're so right! The media was making up such stories. The 'pure evil, ant-Christian' slant was all that they could understand. Paganism is so beyond their spiritual/mental realm, and frame of mind, it's not even funny...Satanism relies on the same Christian based mores and fears to function at all. Paganism is so pure, and unadulterated by all that dull, dogmatic brainwashing!!
@jess16saint Yeah it means "dark seriousness or black seriousness", but it`s in my opinion also a pun because "alvor" is very similar to the word "alver" which is the Norwegian word for "elfs". Actually "alvor" means "elfs" in Swedish, the country next to Norway, so I doubt that the title is just randomly picked. lol.
that emperor guy is a twat! i've seen him talk nowadays.. he just acts like a badass for the camera here lol he did not murder, burn down churches or did burgulary or any of that shit his fellow bands mates had done!
stop putting on the deep voice and respect darkthrone and mayhem as your predacessors and founders of black metal (regarding a clip i saw of him saying their Nightside Eclipse album was the first lol!)
Not true Shiny. Nag well, you are not thinking clearly. All of us wonder, eh? He does not care what you ask 'why?' for. His novelty is numerous generalizations from confusion. Thrive in blind awe, you all are childish to a greater satanic genius.
I've seen so many norwegian satanists but i want to ask them a question, are they joined into the church of satan? :P I wonder if Varg was. He should check laveyan rules of satanism, satanism is about loads of respect.
You should check the history of black metal better. Apart from Ihsahn most people in the Norwegian black metal scene disliked LaVey and thought his ideas were weak. In some of his earlier books LaVey stated he hated metal and thought it was stupid noise. The only reason why LaVey eventually said nice things about artists like Morbid Angel and Marilyn Manson (another clown) was to increase his popularity among the youth. LaVey was stupid and fake, try reading Crowley instead if you like satanism.
hahaha, do any of you know where the metal studs and makeup came from? come on dudes. it's rock 'n' roll history!!! THE METAL STUDS: CAME FROM ROB HALFORD(JUDAS PRIEST) HE GOT THE IDEA FROM SADOMASOCHISM, THE MAKE-UP:ALICE COOPER, KISS!!! IT'S ALL COMMERCIALISM WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!!
And because humans evolved from apes we are still all apes? I don't understand your logic. The second wave of black metal erupted about 15 years after Judas Priest and Kiss became popular. How does that make black metal commercial? Yes there are commercial black metal bands, there are commercial bands in every music style. That doesn't make the genre commercial. But I guess you learned your "rock'n'roll history" from VH1...
to be about who you worship or pray for!!! i hate it when musicians bring they're believes into it. and specially when people follow like dumb lil sheep's!!! now when it's music that sends you a message about being yourself, i mean look at yourselves, you all look the same. you're like fucking clones or something? you all even act the same!!! it's like telling a christian the bible is full of shit!!all right then rock'n'roll expert. who were the first bands, where did it come from? teach me!!!!
Dude, if you honestly knew anything about metal you wouldn't even ask me this. You'd know there's more to metal than a simple comment on youtube could explain. There are several websites out there you can visit (including my website) if you want to know more about metal. Youtube is for leaving comments to videos, it's not for big discussions. Take your stereotypes and go cry about them on some forum but not here. You hate it when musicians have beliefs? You obviously know nothing of black metal.
haha i didnt know ihsahn used to be so gr1m, or maybe he was faking it cuz these days he talks like a normal person and he has friends even friends like Michael Akerfeldt. i guess he was doing his "alter ego" thang.
This video is really cool! But it is really inaccurate the the black metallers were influenced by LaVey and followed his Satanic Bible. They fucking hated him! They were all either Theistic Satanist, Norse Pagan, or Atheist.
It's Satyr from Satyricon, the band playing in the rehearsal place is Satyricon before they went "glam rock" There are no interviews with Satyricon in this documentary though.
wow I think the same things as Ihsahn at this age, aside from Satanism, that's pretty immature
