  • @thebooya69 I had to think twice before even responding, you're comment is so fvcking retarded. Agreed, the guy is great at benching. I maintain my position - who cares when you look like shit? I'd rather be the weakest bencher in my gym and LOOK like the strongest, rather than the other way around. You're probably a fatso too.

  • my brothers only 18 and did 225 for 15 reps :) hes a beast

  • @007cascader Hmm, he stops short of lockout, so my comment is true. I weigh 225 and have maxed on bench at 410, how much does he weigh? You are an idiot, sir.

  • yea seriously for you jackasses that hate on youtube and no nothing about lifting you don't lock your elbows to keep constant tension in your chest it actually makes in tougher to do and he has a westside barbell t-shirt on so enough said its a gym in ohio were the strongest dudes in the world train

  • @RANDL3TT84 It's all good man...thanks!

  • @RANDL3TT84 Cute! I have a recent video reverse grip benching this shit for 33 reps ....no wrist wraps or elbow sleeves lol

  • dude, how muh u weigh like 260?.. and extend your arms ...wat u just did was like 10 reps of 225

  • @opticmavic I weighed about 220 when i did that video.I bench 430-435 so whatever.

  • @opticmavic please just... shut up. lol. i dont get why people are so critical of other people on specifically weight lifting videos. it was atleast 90% range of motion.

  • Not to pick on you, but you look like you weighed more than 217 in the video.....how tall are you? My guess is 5'8"

  • @dirkdigler21 I am 5' 8"

  • do you people not know how to bench for reps? you are supposed to go up about 85% of the way when repping. when you lock out it takes the strain off your pecs. this guy was doing it the right way.

  • @716muthachucka Exactly! Thanks bro!

  • nice mark, what are u doin on 225 rep outs now? i just hit 30, u should check it out

  • @fivefingerbp98 I did 33 a while back on reverse grip and regualr grip i think i have a video of 30 reps.I'll check it bro!

  • @HHH396 nice man, its weird how u did more on reverse. lol. i think im good for 35 with better form on a strong day tho. i was really weak from being sick...

  • Close enough to lockout for me. Wouldn't fly in competition but in my eyes, he pulled off 25.

Get rid of the wraps though pussy lol.

  • @OnePunch89 Pussy?!

  • @HHH396

Haha I'm kidding big guy. You got joint problems or something? I had to wear a wrap on my right elbow for awhile cause of an injury.

  • @OnePunch89 Wrist wraps because it has always bothered my wrists. The elbow sleeves are just to keep my elbows warm because i have had elbow tendonitis in the past. This is a old video,i've gone on to do 32-33 reps ...33 with a reverse grip!

  • Most people couldn't even bench 25 for 225.

  • pretty good

  • That was the worst thing I ever seen

  • u didn't go all the way up, u only did bout 6 full length press.

  • Very nice effort. I see some people commenting on lockout --

You don't need to lock out on this kind of training, do you? That is NFL style speed training that your doing, isn't it?

Anyway, if I understand the purpose of this video, it is to help motivate yourself, and chart your own progress -- not primarily to show off. I think that is great. Ignore the haters out there. They are just bored people. Keep training.

    Best,

    Dave

PS -- Are you at West Barbell, or just a fan?

  • @time2blog Thank you! I never lockout on high rep stuff, takes u out of your rhythm and takes all the work off the chest.

I post my videos mostly to share with my friends, definitely not to show off.People totally get the wrong idea.

Just a fan of westside and like the shirt haha

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @time2blog Whoops -- classic grammar mistake "you're / you are doing" not "your doing". I hate it when I don't proofread carefully. Sorry about that.

  • @13andincrediblycut guess your comphrehension ability is at a first grade level...later man

  • @13andincrediblycut i said almost every video dumbass and i just hate on people going around trying to prove they're better than everybody else instead of simply giving a "congradulations" when its due

  • @13andincrediblycut and have fun posting your "stats" in almost every weightlifting video and never backing up your claim to upload videos

  • @13andincrediblycut ooo followers on the INTERNET haha score...plus your gay pride group members, your pet fish (thats your only friend) and your family lol i guess thats the best you can do haha

  • @13andincrediblycut im pretty sure nobody does

  • @13andincrediblycut yeah nobody cares

  • People here crying about form don't even have a video of themselves benching. 225x25 is impressive keep up the hard work.

  • @bk2202 Thanks for the comment,I appreciate it!

  • NICE WORK MAN WE CAN NEVER CATCH A BREAK FROM DUDES WHO HAVE NO VIDEOS OF THERE SELVES BENCHING LOL

  • @TermaineTT83 Thank you!

  • Try doing full extensions and than well talk you were only doing 3/4 but still pretty good

  • Agreed with sk8rz94. And who gives a fvck if you can bench 435 - you're clearly about 100lbs overweight and out of shape. I can bench 275 x 7 which is pretty lame for my weight (205lbs), but I can go on a beach which doesn't require strength....

  • @ediek915 These comments always come from cry babies that can not bench anything!

  • @HHH396 i think if someone can bench more than you they wouldnt be so i duno jelous? it is an achivement to be proud of, i really dont understand why ppl have to focus negativity on others achivements can someone please explain this to me??

  • Those 45 lb plates look really thin

  • Don't listen to these idiots. 25 reps is ridiculous. Keep up the good work.

  • @sk8rz94 Yeah smart ass that's why I bench 435!

  • @HHH396 yeah but you weigh like 435 anyway, so benching your own weight. ok cool.

  • I could bench this with one hand, while chugging a beer

  • if you locked you arms everytime i dont think you would have as many reps

  • Why r u going for so many reps?

  • @mrdimebreezy100 No reason...just to seem how many I could do.

  • haha thanks.....westside makes some pretty cool t's

  • im not the biggest fan of speedy reps

  • Its a powerlifting thing, they just focus on "moving the weight". Bodybuilders would tend to squeeze the muscle and feel the movement instead.

  • mark whats your next vid gonna look like?

  • speedy reps blow unlesss its small wieght and also those arent full reps he doesnt even do one full rep until about 56 seconds...

  • damn bro, good job. i saw ur other video with 225x 30, thats a crazy good job! i just got 230X 25 times today in my workout too, it was a PR. i love PR's dude. it makes you so happy lol. boost of selfof steam. but i think you could get 225 X 35 if u widen ur grip a lil more bro. keep pumpin!

  • nice job, my max is around 170 or 175, XD and i suck.

  • Thanks man! Keep pumping iron!

  • And now without the wrist and elbow straps, and finish the 25th also....

    :-P

  • Yeah because the elbow sleeves and wrist wraps lift the weight for me lol. Shit I did this a while ago,I'm probably at 30 reps or more by now.Just benched 420 lbs the other day....and it's posted.

  • that looks more like 200 pounds, are you counting the bar?!

  • Olympic bar is 45 lbs and 4-45 lb plates=225 lbs!

  • i had no idea...so all along ive been lifting 200 pounds because i estimate my bar to be 20 pounds...

  • Yeah pretty much all 7 foot olympic bars weigh 45 lbs.Even 5 footers usually weigh 35 lbs.

  • actully 2 45 pound plates on each side is 180 plus the bar is 45 so that equals 225

  • Thanks bro! Keep lifting!

  • impressive power man well done

may i ask, what r those things u wear on ur wrists, i notice there is also a little black band on them that go around ur thumb... what do those do?

  • Thanks man! Those are wrist wraps, they kep your wrist from bending back too much and getting strained. The black band is around the thumb just make starting the wrapping easier.

  • yo that was my lasty record too! that shits hard

    im impressed

  • My best is 27 reps.I think I'm going to try to beat that soon....thanks man!

  • how did you get good at this

  • @rossboss2010 Lots and lots of benching, tricep work and shoulder work.Years of heavy lifting, that's it!

  • that was 24 and 3/4 reps

  • 25 half reps. congrats on12 1/2 on 225 buddy!

  • haha ok bro.....I bench over 400 lbs but whatever...

  • dont you love faggots over the internet that dont realize half reps are harder?

  • haha I know,locking out is a rest...thanks man!

  • half reps are harder you dumb piece of shit.

  • the reps you didnt lockout on would have gotten you disqualified... you'd get maybe 15 full lockout

  • Disqualified from what ? Yeah that's funny, you think all I got is 15 lockout reps in me.I bench over 400 lbs buddy!

  • if its over 400 then you are right youd get around 25-30 lockout reps, but some of the reps you didn't lockout and on combine tests you'd be disqualified. I had my combine test today and the idiot judge decided i wasnt locking out by my 12th rep so I had to start over wasting 12 reps worth of energy, turns out I was locking out I just use a wider grip, all the judge said was "oh sorry". had to restart and only had 17 in me. My max bench is 405 and I should have got 22-25 reps. Dickhead judges...

  • Oh yeah the combine is tough.I've done 27 reps this way I'm not sure how many I can do locked out.I might loose a couple reps.I usually don't lockout reps under 315 lbs. That sucked dude at the combine, once u do 12 plus reps and then u have to start over, you're already tired. What position do u play?

  • lol that dude is crazy xD

  • Thanks bro!

  • @zts99 he was doing tht to isolate chest and use less triceps, it makes it a lot harder.

  • @surfmaster14 Wrong.

  • i only can do 11 o.0 it whould be nice to do 20+

    nice! keep it up

  • Thanks bro! Just keep at it,you'll be at 20 reps before you know it.

  • Thanks man! Fakes are on here but I would never even fake a 2 lb plate....it's just lame!

  • Yeah I've seen that and it does look real.I don't use fake plates.I've been lifting steady for the last 14 years.

  • That's funny!

  • It may look easy but I've been workingout for a long time to build up my bench....and it's a little longer than a foot.....my dick I mean lol!

  • 225 is heavy it dont seem like it until u get it up of the bar

  • That's cool and like I said to the other guy,I'll post a vid of full reps when I get the chance.I have no doubt though that I'll be right around the same reps.

Send me the vid when you have it up...peace!

  • yea deyebc is right you do half reps, il give you 17 full reps maybe , check out my videos

  • There not half reps, only a couple inches short of the uprights.Checkout my other videos....i'm a 400 lb bencher. That's laughable I could pause rep 17 reps.

  • ok post a video of you doing full reps of 225 till failure i wanna see how many you can get

  • Ok I'll do it at the end of one of my workouts.

  • hei bro i got a vid of me benching 155 but idk who to put the name tag cheke out my vid

  • lol half reps....learn to bench before posting

  • Yeah ok....I bench 400 lbs but I know nothing about benching.

    Another expert with no videos!

  • i think the big man knos what hes doing...and its bad for you to lock your arms out espically when ur doing big weights like 225 so i would consider it a rep, not HALF a rep

  • Damn i see every one is telling wieght and age and max so heres mine.........16 wieght 142.2 max 245. I can rep 225 .....but 25 times would def give me some trouble haha awesome vid.

  • That's so funny when I was 15-16 yrs old,I weighed 140 lbs and benched 240 lbs.Don't quit and you might be where I'm at or better when u get older.

    Thanks for the comment bro!

  • dude u gotta push it all the way up.not a 90 degree angle of ur elbows.

  • im 18.. 145lb and max 215.. my max has been at 205-215 constantly for about 2 monts now... help me!

  • Don't max out more than once every 6-8 weeks minimum or you'll overtrain. Also you have to work each bodypart seperately to increase your strength in each area.

for shoulders, push press and military press

    for triceps;close grip bench

    for chest: dumbell bench

  • dang, im 16 i weigh 180 and max at 225..this guy made me look like a bitch.

  • Thanks bro! 225 @ 16 yrs old isn't bad.Just keep hitting the weights.

  • hey there. Im 19 and I weigh around 210 or so. I max bench at 365. I was wondering what your chest workout consists of and how many times a week you do it? And I was wondering if you take any supplements of any kind? And considering my age and weight is my bench decent or do I need more work.

Great life keep up the good work =D

  • I would say it's far better than decent.365 is excellent! As far as chest workouts go,I don't do anything special.I only work my chest once a week.Recovery from your heavy workouts are the key to success. Most people overtrain the bench.Just make sure you do lots of work for your shoulders and triceps(push press, military press, close grip bench etc,,,,)

  • Awesome man thanks for the advice. Im hoping to hit 405 sometime over the summer. I tried it once but it kicked my ass lol

  • You're wecome! Yeah 405 lbs has a way of kicking your ass,I've been humbled quite a few times by it myself.Persistence pays off!!!!

  • 45 lb plates and 45 lb bar.

  • im 15, a freshman in hs nd im a lineman on the football team. im 6'1, weigh 220 nd bench 235, not rep, but like one time max, is that any good?

  • That's not bad.If you keep at it until you're a senior, you could get up over 315 lbs.You just have to keep lifting.

  • I weigh 140 and im a sophmore. This is my first year lifting, and i bench 240 and squat like around 320-330. Is that good? : | haha

  • Yeah it's good! Sounds like me,I weighed 140 lbs @ 15 and benched 240 also as a beginner.Stick with it and maybe you can be a 400 lb bencher also. : )

  • ! :D

  • ha u a big ass freshman lol. im a sophmore and i play varsity fullback, at 5 11. i max at 225 and i weigh 180, 235 isnt bad for u, but i think u should be rep'n that shit.

  • yeah thanks man, im repping 210 now nd my max is 240, i even lost some weight at 220 now. just cant get past the 240 mark.

  • sweet dude thats my max i can do it one time but im only 18yr old and weight 137 so thats not too bad whats your max? ill be posting a video some time this month of me doing it once

  • Thanks bro! Yeah 225 at 137 lbs is great. My best bench is 405 lbs.

  • Good stuff man. I can only get 8 legit, and I feel pretty strong. 25.... good grief!

  • Thanks bro! I've been lifting foir a long time.

  • Good work dude!!

  • Thanks dude!

  • how long did it take to get there reps that is?

  • I've been training since 1994.I would say it took 6 years or more of training. That's not my best,27 is my best.

  • nice work.1 question if you was to try that same weight but without the elbow straps how many reps would you be getting.i am thinking of buying some elbow straps.

  • Thanks man! I would get the same reps. The wraps I wear are just for keeping my elbows warm.I'm going to do another rep out in a few weeks and I'll do this one without wraps.

  • Good work man, keep it up, press like there is not tomorrow!!!!!!

  • Thanks bro! I'll try for more reps soon.

  • Great job bro

    keep up the good work

looking forward to watch your numbers go up and up

  • Thanks man! I always appreciate the comments. And likewise with your lifting.

  • Thanks a lot! You're benching 385 lbs @ 19 yrs old, that is very good.I'm one the rare people that has gotten stronger as I've got older.I'll be 39 yrs old soon and I'm a lot stronger now than when I was 19.

Let me know when u have videos up.I'll definately like to see them.

  • you can basically rep your bodyweight + 8 pounds 25 times, well done man.

  • Thanks Jared! I'll try to improve on that in a few weeks.

  • Thanks bro,I appreciate the comment!

  • Ac/DC rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want 415 lbs as much as anybody but being sick has killed it for me,for the moment.I've lost a lot of strength.I've lost 8 or 9 lbs of bodyweight(i only weigh about 216-217 lbs)

  • Next time rock-n-roll....yeah buddy!

  • ( sic ) RESPECT!

  • Thanks! I did it not feeling that good.Believe it or not I still have that virus.I've been wicked tired lately. How is Andrea doing?

  • solid! I like the music! Geez what's a guy have to do to get some repect!

  • haha no like the music lmao!

  • Next time I'll lock them all out.

  • thats a humbling performace for 99%+ of youtube users

  • Thanka Zack! Keep posting the videos brother!

  • Hell yeah, buddy!! One of the greatest songs of the '80s, and a 225 rep contest... who could ask for more?

  • haha thanks buddy! Yeah that song u either love or hate.I actually did the rep out with 225 because I felt weak for the heavy stuff.

  • here in my car! i feel safest of all.

Nice lifts bro. keep it up

    -Justin

  • haha crazy song I know.Thanks Justin,I appeciate it!

  • Damn you replied fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just happen to be replying to kaz and I saw your comment.

  • You know the world record for endurence in the bench is 200lb for 1800 reps in an hour.

  • haha I will'nt be challanging that any time soon.

  • I dont think anybody will ever beat that record.

  • Where can I find more information about that endurance bench record? Do you know who did it or during what contest? Sounds awesome.

  • Thanks Alex, but they were a little more than half reps.I was within a couple inches from lockout on all of them.

  • yes they were definitely more than half reps

  • Really good Mark endurence set's in fast does'nt i't.

  • Thanks bro! Yeah my endurance is not the best right now.

  • that is really good

the most i can get with 225 is 14 and that is with a spotter , i have a video of doing 9 but i was by myself in the video

i might end up re doing the video and getting a spotter next time

  • Thanks Ronald! My best withthat weight is 27 reps.I wasn't feeling my best.I felt pretty weak.I'll re-test in a few weeks and try to better it.

  • yeah im resting for about a week or so from benching because i have also been feeling weak lately today makes day 6

  • i have been looking forward for u to rep out 225 for some time. i recently PRed with 135 for 30 reps on bench. that was easy weight good job man!

  • Thanks bro! I wasn't all that happy.Wasn't feeling that great.I'll try for 27 or 28 next time.
