it should run, but i don't know what else you have on your computer, i'd still recommend you get a more powerfull one, these days, 350W is really low these days.
Ok thanks, see I seen this computer in PC World an advent one qc something and it has a 8500gt in it, but I was thinking of upgrading it to a 8800gt so I don't know if I will have to upgrade the psu.
the Q6600 in FULL power (meaning all 4 cores runing at max) takes up 100W :) but i doubt there is any aplication that makes the q6600 use it's full power.cheers
true, BF games in general are better, crysis is just a game you can go "ooooooh preeetyyyy" and has a pretty cool single player, except that any of the BF games are better in multiplayer.
hah man i made a calculation..and you are like one to two amps away from not having enough lol lucky guy! =) u take the Wattage output on the 12v ral and devide it with 12 and there is ur amps. my calculation was: 350/12=29,6. I thought that your psu probably features maximum 350w on the 12v rail.
post processig is the blurr effect when you turn around and stuff like that and i turned it to low cause i never liked that effect in games.
the asus 8800gt has a couple of versions, i got one of the early ones and it still has the old cooler wich isnt the best for the card but as long as i dont overclock its good enough, i never had any problems with heat.
I just bought this card today and haven't put it in yet, but I have a 350W PSU do you think it will run?

The power requirements are only overrated because alot of people have Hipro PSUs and the like, so they overestimate to cover their asses

indeed
i dont have that psu anymore, i had to upgrade a while ago to add 2 extra hard drives and more ram and overclock the processor :P

What cooler do you have on your 8800gt and what are your Idle-Load temps?
Neosferaku 3 years ago
i have a Zalman VF700-Alcu
temps are about 60's 70 under load (Celsius)
idle its around 40's.
it used to be 100 and freakin noisy with the stock cooler, i hated the damn thing

Thanks alot mate!

Yup power requirements are overrated, playing at 300 of 400 I hope 400 here ^^

dude why dont i save you your calculations and just say it has 2 rails with 18 amps each?
BiffExploder 4 years ago
i cant really tell if you are mad or not but if you are i cant understand why.
Lokabergslagen 4 years ago
the thing is, the card is running brilliantly since the begining of december, no bsods or any kind of artifacts.
if you know what you are doing and what you have theres no need for an uber expensive PSU.
