  • I think you have a boyfriend.

  • why did you not get apple to fix it when you bought the ibook

  • All that hard wood floor around his and he takes it apart on the rug. Wow...

  • omdss shut up -_-

  • Blahahahahaha.

  • Flickering screen sounds like a LCD backlight driver failed, fixed many before due to accidental handling

  • hey you sound like a guy who knows his stuff i have a friend that is selling me one of his ibook g4 and i think its in really good condition for how long its been out but i just wanted to know is it hard to change the top and bottom cases of the laptop i mean the top and bottom housing the shiny exterior it has surface scratches and i think if i could replace those to things i could get the laptop for a steal its a great price man but i gotta change at least the top housing so i get itpure&shiny

  • Ahh screws... I've never worked on a Mac but I've worked on plenty of laptops and they all have about one billion screws o_O

Oh, and I noticed you didn't have a an antistatic wrist strap! Be careful you don't wanna fry your shit!

  • Awesome.

  • The same things happened to my iBook. After wear and tear, the hinge somewhat broke, and caused my screen to shut off and on... randomly. I still have that iBook. Perhaps I can send it to you for repair?

I went and bought a macbook pro but still would like to repair my iBook to use as a backup.

  • Haha, let us see how successful I am with my own, first :)

  • Love this song! What is it? Hope you manage to repair it.

  • It's a remix of Control by Metro Station.

  • im really curious how this will end

  • I did a PC repair course, and have a certificate to prove it, but I have no idea what i'm doing once inside one. I can open it up, but thats it.

There is always too many screws left over at the end. =D

    I'll be interested in seeing part 2. : )

  • this video was like running a marathon and then stopping before the finish line. :-)

  • That's how I roll!

  • Ooooh.... you lost me halfway through this process. I am technologically-challenged, so that is why I never disassemble my computer. But kudos to you for being brave enough to do so!

Also, I'm diggin your plaid shorts. Are they from AE?

  • They're Hollister. And they aren't my favourites :)

  • Wow, I love taking apart and putting together desktop boxes, but laptops have always kind of scared me.

Also I can't believe you're doing that on the rug on the floor with your cat walking so close by. I'd be terrified of static electricity working on a rug like that. I always make sure I do hardware work on hardwood floors to help keep my sanity :)

Good luck! Can't wait for part 2.

  • It's actually a blanket, and the guides recommend working on a soft cloth of some sort to protect the logic board when you have it exposed and face down on the floor. Hopefully it ends up okay!

  • I Hope It Works When You Put It Make Together Good Luck :{}

  • I don't think I would dare try to do something like that. That's what repairmen are for. Well that, & other things. :P
