  • I LOVE this version....

  • "Close your eyes real nice and tight, Santa comes tonight!"...*TUNK!*

    LMAO!!

  • I love his use of glissando (it gives the saxes that "slurpy" sound)!

  • Just became acquainted with this song this season. Heard it for the first time on Sirius XM, and got taken by it!

  • ;-)

  • I came across this today when I had a "Billy May" version of "Adios" up. That's a story in itself (I had to do an excerpt by ear for my web site from MEMORY), but THIS recording is an interesting version of a Chiristmas song which would be hard to find even in season (like the 5/4 version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, which prompted me to do that in alternating medley with Take 5).

  • UUUUUUUHHHHHH!

  • I've been separated from this darling song for about 15 years- thank you for posting it, it still makes me giggle and wiggle with glee!

  • I laughed out loud, a rarity when listening to music.

  • This particular arrangement is the best. Probably my fave Christmas tune period. Great upload!

  • Awesome my goal is to learn this version on the piano!

  • Those interjections, sounding like Perez Prado one minute and Truman Capote the next, were by the May band's drummer, the great Alvin Stoller (1925 - 1992). One of the top drummers on the west coast studio scene for some 40+ years, he worked with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Oscar Peterson, and Nat King Cole. Additionally, he worked on numerous film and TV soundtracks.

  • @librarybob1958 how right about this sounding like Perez Prado
