I think Andy Lee would be more suited to a heavier weight division. It's a shame about the loss, terrible refereeing decision! But he was able to take the punishment and fire back. I think he would take Macklin round by round and Duddy the same! Macklin is European Level and the Finnish guy beat the count and was stopped! with the end of the round approaching bad refereeing decision against former European champ in a title fight!

Carl Daniels took this fight on like a one-day or two-day notice. He was far from sharp and no doubt needed the money. A lesson to all you young pros out there: NEVER fight for the money. Still, this is a testament to Steward's shrews management skills. I saw the fight live on TV and I was like whoa, BIG step in experience. But Manny knew what he was doing. Credit must still be given to Lee for doing this with only 7 pro fights.

i still hope only the best for lee, and i see him beating pavlik if he is able to improve on defense, and learns how to tie up. lee is definitely fleeter of hand and foot than pavlik. he has real good hand and foot speed, and good reflexes, but still unanswered questions about defense, and chin.

damn andy lee looks like a real threat at times. i just can't believe he lost to brian vera... i know there was controversy and shit about the stoppage, some saying it was premature. but vera was able to simply walk through andy's shots and land powerful, but slow as fuck. shots. unlike the wladimir, who will tie up aggressive fighters, especially slow ones, and pick them apart, lee was clueless about what to do when a dude even as slow and unskilled as vera gets on the inside....

I think Andy Lee would be more suited to a heavier weight division. It's a shame about the loss, terrible refereeing decision! But he was able to take the punishment and fire back. I think he would take Macklin round by round and Duddy the same! Macklin is European Level and the Finnish guy beat the count and was stopped! with the end of the round approaching bad refereeing decision against former European champ in a title fight!

Andy Lee is not a bad fighter, not at all. His problem though is that he's your typical Manny Steward's prduct. I've been watching him since he fought Angulo as an amateur and I've never changed my impression: He'll perform beautifully against guys who will try to box him and but he'll most likely unfold if put against anyone who can absorb punishments and doesn't get discouraged. He was kind of taught to fight like a 160lbs Wladimir Klitschko.

first of daniels never became world champ. u are right he used to be a good fighter though. USED TO. see his record man, he was once a undefeated prospect turned top contender. he challenged for titles like 4 times. failed but was still a good fighter.
since then he slipped into journeyman status. hes not by any means a challenge for anyone these days. its sad really.

Carl Daniels took this fight on like a one-day or two-day notice. He was far from sharp and no doubt needed the money. A lesson to all you young pros out there: NEVER fight for the money. Still, this is a testament to Steward's shrews management skills. I saw the fight live on TV and I was like whoa, BIG step in experience. But Manny knew what he was doing. Credit must still be given to Lee for doing this with only 7 pro fights.

Steward had another tall, rangy fighter that he claimed was Hall of Fame bound a few years ago. His name was Vivian Harris. Harris not a bad fighter but not near top level, much like Lee. Have you watched any Lee fights? You must not know your boxing or we would not be having this discusson. Jaun Manuel Lopez, Alfredo Angulo, Victor Ortiz, those are the real top prospects in boxing! thats all wll and good mate but plenty of fighters have benn beaten by nobodies early in there carrer and went on to be the best so i wouldnt hold that fight against him....i honestly feel hes good enough to be world champion but time wil tell...in his last fight against gibbs who is a step up from vera i think ...he won every rtound knocking him out in the last

He has some skills I agree, and I have been wrong before. I can't see into the future but for now to me he does'nt have it. He is at least the last time I saw him nowhere near the level of the best at or around 160lbs. I did'nt know my opinion would strike such a nerve with fellows!

your dead right it could go either way hopefully he continues on up....the reason is hes a huge prospect in ireland and emmanuel steward keeps touting him as the next biggest thing in boxing ,future hall of famer etc...

I'm sorry but Manny Steward is a bit of a fraud anymore.He has been at that HBO desk way too long!He does really wonderfull work with some guys but others he fails very badly.He never gets the blame for it when they fail either, I can't understand this!I will say most of the time he fails anymore it is with established fighters he takes over and in Lee's case he has been there from the begining I think, maybee that will help.Can't see him competing against Abraham/Pavlik anytime soon though.
