But him, being in the television business etc, would probably have understood it was just for the show. They clearly got caught up, and over excited, they're very excitable people. There are STILL people going on about this occasionally in the media; they were out of order but the reaction was totally over the top. Ross is quality but Russell is yet to say anything funny in his life.
I think this is very funny. They were just trying to do a show, they suceeded in being funny. The only thing that blew it all out of proportion is the media. THREE people made complaints about this, but when the media found out, they made it into a big scam. Neither of them should have lost their jobs for this comedy. Yes to be fair Russel Brand is a unfunny tosser who dresses and looks like a nob. He is so unfunny and I watched the trailer for his comedy standup. They show the best bits on trailer so it must be appaling. The joke was: "My life is a series of unfortunate events strung together with me telling people about the events." Or something very similiar. A poor attempt at humour by any stretch of the imagination :(

If you go to his new tour (Russell Brand Scandalous) he does explain quite alot on why it happened. His problem is he has the mind of a 7/8 year old and I think it is Ross that made him resign.

I have long enjoyed both Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand but I think they clearly overstepped the mark here. At the end of the day they were leaving potentially distressing messages on an O.A.P.s answer machine.I do not think the content that funny or that shocking but the act of abusing not only a pensioner but a national treasure is what has led to the out cry. As for Georgina, what a shame she could not remain as dignified as Andrew Sachs.
