Susato and Dixon are fine whistles, but some of the classics are great whistles for much less - like the Generation. Some of them need a bit of tweaking to play great (scrape off excess plastic at the seams etc.). Better yet, spend $20 and get a Clarke Original. Or Clarke Sweetone or the super-cheap Meg (still a decent whistle). There are several music stores selling them online, as well as that auction site. Or see if there's a shop in your area that sells whistles. And then practice every day!
the dixon trad is good too. comes in brass or aluminum and is only about 20 USD. i also like the susatos. the pennywhistle susatos are are int the 18-30 dollar range depending if you get kildare (tunable, black) or dublin (non-tunable, white)
Is it low B flat or high D?
