Of the 3, my favourite is probably this one, then the 3rd..

The 2nd one is definitely the weakest, and does not account for the elements that made the original 'Death star destroys planet' an instant classic. Take for example, the voice at the start. There is a notable absence of this voice in the second video, and although, disappointingly, it does not make a re-appearance in the 3rd instalment in the saga, there are multiple homages to Battlestar Galactica, characteristic of Capjaneway's work.

I am aware that my vid is not physically correct. In fact, I've been interested in AF since the age of 6 too, and I'm currently attending university studying it.

This vid started out as a small test vid. It grew to this, but I couldn't improve it because of a lack of 3Dsmax skill & hardware.

First of all, their is no sound in space due to the lack of air, thus the explosion would not be heard. Secondly, objects of such great mass would explode rather slowly. Otherwise this video is pretty good.

What makes you think that the bigger the slower??? Supernovas??? Stars, a thousand times bigger than the sun collapse within a few seconds!!! And if you are destroying a planet, a would think you would use nuclear weapons that is exaggerated immensely by the chain reaction!

I am not saying the bigger the slower. The bigger the slower the fast, as it may very well be, speed look to an observer. Also supernova are from stars of 50 solar masses or more, so of course thheir explosion is much faster. The explosion of those supergiant stars would look faster, if it covered a smaller area. Besides, even if you had an antimatter charge equipped to it, a ship of that smaal size could not possess as much power as an exploding supergiant star.
