i love getting all those wee kind of gifts. in fact the last present i received was a late Christmas present from my late mother in law who only passed away a few weeks ago. it was a beautiful bath set with soap/ shower gel/ 2 flower candles ect.. it was a lovely set. which means a lot to me now. so there is no such thing as a present thats too small. the only bad present i ever received was a wine glass that had my ex's aunts name etched in it(that pissed me off)

Funny you should mention astronomy, Red Dwarf was one of the things that got me really interested in space and such when I was a young lad, and now I'm a full-time bloody astrophysicist! Cheers for that and it's great news to hear you're filming more.

Since it is an area that I deal with, you want to use H264/m4v compression. It even plays in most flash video players. If you are a Mac-o-phile have a look at a product called Episode.

I know, I know, not what the video was about, but I am a helpful nerd at heart.

I am checking out Episode, but I already do encode in H264, and sometimes as m4v when I remember. Can't remember what I did on this one, but episode looks really good and I have never heard of it. I use flip4mac and all manner of things made by same people. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Bob, I know you probably get this all the time so I'll keep it short but I had an idea for Dwarf that either you or Doug might be interested in. A paralel dimension where Lister is actually doing worse than his standard self as opposed to better, the permutation thats always been done so far. Same could go for the other characters I guess.

In terms of compression, WMV does the business. I compressed a 720p QT movie which was 85 megs down to 10. That should help in your endeavours perhaps.
