  • I was at this gig and I was 10 years old!

  • That is Classic Heavy Rock and Roll, excelente!!

  • Why wasnt this a greatest hit???

  • @summi510 to long for the raido therefor couldnt be commeicalized for the masses

  • Who the F*** dislikes this??

  • I SUBBED, SUB BACK PLEASE????

  • la piu' bella canzone dei queen!!

  • This is becoming my fav song because is so Queen-ish (awesome beyond words)

  • I REALLY LIKE THIER EARLY "HEAVY METAL" THE BEST.

  • LOL Freddie 2:03 - 2:05

  • A small Dutch a capella group called Rock4 do an incredible version of this - I suggest you all check it out (various performances on YouTube).

  • I seriously think Roger should have sung the "I see no day I heard him say so grey is the face of every mortal" part. It was perfectly in his range, he had the right voice to sing it, and Freddie wouldn't have to change awkwardly the melody like he did here...

Well, it's a very complex song indeed, so there's no way they could make it as good as the album version. They still do a good job at this, though.

  • Here Here too! Bohemian can't touch this one!

So glad this one never got popular.

Great live though, never seen this before.

  • Here Here too! Bohemian can't touch this one!

  • LOL @ the tracking

  • @MrSaddleMaster

the bad tracking just makes it better! =D

  • I love Bohemian Rhapsody but I've listened to it so many times, whereas I've only just discovered the Prophet's song. I love finding new Queen songs.

  • @bababoum or old songs maybe :P

  • @jackstroem1324 yeah but new to me, you knew what I meant!

  • 5.- Dragon attack and Rock it Vs. Play the game and Crazy little thing...

6.- I won't mention the Hot space because they were all underrated except for Under pressure

7.- Tear it up and Machines Vs Radio gaga and I want to break free

8.- Gimme the prize and Princes of the universe Vs A Kind of magic and who wants to live forever

...I mean.. How on earth can you compete with that?

So many good songs that it was just not fair for these four Gods of music!!

  • Self sabotaged by their own talent! few paid attention to this or "death on two legs" beause of Bo Rhap and "you're my best friend". same thing happened all the time:

1.-Stone Cold crazy-Vs Killer queen and now I'm here

2.- Good ol fashioned lover boy and Teo torriate-Vs Tie your mother down and Somebody to love

3.- Spread your wings and It's late -Vs We will rock you and we are the champions

4.- Let me entertain you and Mustapha Vs Don't stop me now and Fat bottomed girls

  • LOL My mom hates this song!!! but I LOVE it! I think this is another Bohemian Rhapsody and should be a GREAT single!!! and it would be great that they had a video to this... but Freddie is missing in the heaven's clouths (: haha R.I.P Freddie!!!!

  • cazzo sta canzone è divina

  • Increìble actuaciòn de Freddie, grandioso en todas las èpocas!!!

  • Qualtiy sucks )))): the studio version is better sorry to say. Awsome song though ^_^

  • So very underrated.

  • dommage que le son soit pourri...

  • this song is amazing. Freddie is awsme

  • Queen are incredible, Freddie was a God!

  • @KillingMachineJFL Freddie IS God...

  • @KillingMachineJFL Freddie IS God

  • I would say that the video itself is the biggest issue. 30 year old betamax doesn't sound good either

  • This song is really difficult to do live, impossible to match the studio version. Besides, there was a problem with the equipment in the middle part, so Freddie had to do an improvisation.

  • you guys gotta remember this was 40 years ago so the audio is fucked up so...

  • God damn you guys are idiots. Its obviously a video tape recorded again to get on here. They are not dvds, the go out of tune after time. Jesus Christ, that arguement just went for too long. Over nothing

  • sorry, wrong evalutaion....i'm a bit dislexic XD. i agree with you

  • hmm, am i the only one who think the singing could've been alot better? i mean, i'm surprised freddie mercury would sing out of tune, as he actually does sometimes in this video..

  • you obviously arent a rocknroller, let me explain ,during a "LIVE" performance which is just about evrynight when your touring in a rock band missing a few notes or lyrics isnt all unheard off even for a great frontman like Freddie, perfection is impossible, you just give your all to the fans

  • when?

  • Believe me when I say this. "Prophet's song" is a very hard song to sing. Even the great Freddie Mercury can't sing it perfectly.

  • yeah, i understand it is. I was just trying to tell how dissapointed i was, with the high expectations i had. Queen is genious

  • They are genius, but does Genius mean they have to sound perfect each performance? Genius is how they make their music, not their performance.

It's simply was a bad live show, or for this song at least.

  • yep, that's exactly what I think too. I think the song is very hard, but perhaps also the performance, i'm not sure. I don't think queen was the best band live, but they sure were the best in the studio

  • Queen were great live, but on certain songs they didn't do that well. I do agree they are uniquely different in the studio which I love.

  • Poweeeeerrr

  • So. Fucking. EPIC!!!

Great live version!! Gotta love that death on two legs section in the middle haha :)

  • Fucking Amazing! Great play of voices, he was a genius!

  • amazing !! brillantly sung!!

  • one of their greatest songs

  • AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING

  • cool, didnt think freddie would be so random on the quiet part

  • Freakin' brilliant!

I have always preferred this to Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • sooooo true!!!!

  • Yeah, I like this one and Innuendo to BoRhap

  • Totally Agree!

  • @sharig97 agree

  • @sharig97 everyone thinks Bohemian Rhapsody is so amazing, though it is undoubtedly fantastic, people need to explore more of Queen to fully see their talent and just how incredibly remarkable they are. musical geniuses!

  • @sharig97 I think The Prophet's Song was going to be the lead single before Bohemian Rhapsody got that honour.

  • one of my favorite Queen songs! why is this song not as popular as Bohemian Rhapsody?? it's just as good!! and it sounds sooo BEAUTIFUL live! especially love the a capella part with all the echoes! sends shivers down my spine!

  • i agree...probly cuz its a dark and heavy tune..amazing

  • Because you need an special kind of ear to appreciatte it. Mostly related with the kind of effort smart people do which is mostly intellectual. Hey Hey Jude was proclaimed as one of the worst songs ever by a group of internet voters on CNN.

  • ooouuuaaaiii!!!!

  • its the delay mix

  • (Now and no)*10
