  • OMG so I got the conditioner and added a couple scents from the victoria secrets fragrance oils and let me tell you. I'm in LOVE! Like ridiculous love. Especially with how my hair smells right now. I cried over the pink herbal essence being discontinued and this beats it hands down. Oh and the feeling, lol, my hair is like butta and frizz free.

  • @supajenny Yay! Love this stuff. And yes, you can tweak the fragrance and add enough (without having it be too much of course) to make the smell last. My hair smelled like popcorn for three days, and I wasn't mad!! lol

  • Elle, my hair & I thank you so much for pulling the veil off this product. It is the absolute BOMB.com!!! I can't tell you how much of a difference it has made in the moisture retention of my hair. It looked and felt as though my hair had been dipped in satin & silk. Your blog & vlogs have helped me tremendously; although they are no friend to my product addiction ;). I can't wait until my fragrances come in!!!!

  • Wow! I learned ALOT from this vid!..I had no idea folks be using bases..lol Uuhhhggg now I gotta go buy this too?... in *your s*** naturals say* video voice....lol

  • Wow!! that's amazing information. It makes you wonder what's actually nourishing our hair. I always wondered about how companies make conditioners. especially companies that add parabens as perservatives. Afroveda....hmmm..suppose to be all natural.

  • Thank you for letting us know!

  • A friend and I were just cracking up over this lady that sells products at or work at inflated prices. She makes her products from the same place that I order my stuff and uses all the base cosmetics that they sell but tries to pass them off as her own creation to justify the high prices. We even recognized the bottles she used that were on clearance. Good topic.

  • So I just tried the conditioner. I think I just found my staple conditioner. U were so right, it has amazing slip. I am just in awe of this conditioner. I can't wait to try it as a LI. I will also be purchasing the 7lb tub once my 30oz is almost gone. Thanks Elle! Love ya!

  • Denimpixi, this video is so informative and I ordered the products and made my own conditioner with my favorite scents, Chocolate Drizzle being one of them. This base is so AWESOME!!!! My hair is loving the conditioner and this is a keeper forever. Thank you for making this video. You are 100% on point. This conditioner is the Freakin Bomb.Com for real!

  • @shenalol also please note that people live in different climates; not all places are dry during winter, and i also do not use glycerin in the summer when i go to the desert.

  • @denimpixie ok, that's helpful! thanks for replying! :)

  • @shenalol i am talking about general use, not specifically in winter. i was using it more in summer as a leave in, but now that it is drier i rinse it out.

  • Hi, denimpixi. I'm really confused. I just watched your winter regimen and dew point videos where you talked about the importance of avoiding glycerin at some times of the year. But the base you linked has vegetable cglycerin in it. Am I missing something? :(

  • you hair looks pleasantly stretched in this video...did you do anything different...it looks very nice though :)

  • Had to share. After deep condish with organics condish I put some of it in a big bowl of water and used as a final rinse. I used gvp condish balm as a leave in. Organics is the best condish I've used. I lost a lot of my curl from henna so I went CG 2 weeks ago and CG has def helped but this condish brought my curl back completely. hair is moisturized. I don't use oils/butters. And the frizzy spot i've had for a yr is not frizzy. Since I started CG I don't use gels or curl definer. just condish.

  • @kalm5369 yay yay yay yay yay! So glad you love it. I'm going to dc with it tonight. *dances*

  • Interesting.

  • You remember that beef we got into last year over that "sesame street i love my hair" video? lol i just thinking about that. we was both trippin but i been got over it. its old news and i apologize if i said anything to offend you.

  • Thanks for posting the sites!!

  • Elle-So I went on ingred2die4 and brought the condish. Got it this AM, put it on to do a dry condish. Had to look at my hands to see if they were greasy, that's how moisturizing it is. without question the best feeling moisturizer i'v ever used. I say feeling because I haven't rinsed yet to see how it works.

  • @kalm5369 Come back! Did you rinse it out yet?? Tell meeeee

  • @denimpixie OK-I rinsed it out and did my hair. YES, I love it. I wanted to give it a fair chance so I didn't use any other condish or styler. I'm a condish only girl now. It's thick and I loved it. much better the One condish and more moisturizing then matrix biolage. It's a keeper!

  • LAWD!!!! now you've got me indulging in a new type of crack....SCENTS. So i went to wholesale supplies and bought: Bazooka B-Gum Fragrance Oil 186, 2Sex in the Shower Fragrance Oil 429,Vanilla Hazelnut Fragrance Oil 469, Chocolate Drizzle Fragrance Oil 106, Jelly Doughnut Fragrance Oil 556, Gingersnap Cookies Fragrance Oil (LE) 243 Sweet Pumpkin Spice Fragrance Oil (LE) 532

Luckily I can also use them in the house.

  • @blackrraine YES! I was getting addicted to them too, then I started mixing things and realized how little I would use...and I was like omg I'll have these forever!

  • iAm so happy you made this video, you and LolaKinkz are my 2 must see subscriptions!! iJust chopped my relaxed ends on December 4th after 16 months of transitioning so im losing control. its good to know that products will finally do what they are supposed to do!! Keep it up, youre amazing.

  • Thanks for the review! Do you like this condtioner more than the Curl Junkie Smoothing Lotion?

  • If you don't mind sharing, what makeup do you use on your eyes? They look awesome in this vid and I'd love to copy, thanks.

  • @19sweetandbrown86 There is a Naked Kim K tutorial by SunKissedAlba that I tried to do...I don't think I did a good job though. Check it out!

  • Thanks for the info!Btw the color in your hair is nice, what color is it?

  • what are some products that you use that dont contain GLYCERIN, for the WINTER season

  • @JadasFashionize Check out my holy grail list on my blog - all of my fave products are listed there.

  • Thank you for info. May God bless everything you do. lol :-)

  • why r u wearing my necklace? yeah i'ma need that back! i've been looking all over for it! the nerve of u! great video! cheers to learning something new! thanx! damn, is that my bracelet too? this vid is not helping my product junkieism! 4 real stop takin' my stuff, i'm watchin' u! lol!

  • oh my goodness I make my own products too using bases like Cetyl Alcohol & BTMS then I use a double boiler to mix the oils together with the Aloe Juice & Waters. Most poeple don't realize that they can do this themselves at home & it will be tailor made according to their likes.dislikes. Plus cheaper overall. Thanks for making vids like this!

  • @ChloeDeBre Hey Chloe, I don't mean ingredients like CA or BTMS - I mean full, ready to use, bases that are full products and fine to use themselves. What you're doing sounds like a lot of work, lol!

  • Thanks so much for this info Elle. I'm so inspired to mix up my own dc's. Don't know why I hadn't thought of this before. I could've saved so much money.. What company uses the base that you posted? I'm so curious. If you don't feel comfortable posting the info feel free to pm me. BTW...this is Pokahontas from lhcf ;-)

  • @Hunnydukes It's in the comments but I don't want to repeat it several times, I don't really have beef with them. ;) And hey! I was lurking the other day on LHCF and your hair is looking lush!

  • @denimpixie Thanks girl! I think I found it.....wow!...I really need to start doing my research more. Thanks for opening my eyes! Your hair is looking amazing girlie, and it's gotten so long!

  • @denimpixie Lmao at because I'm lightskinned!! There's a guy at my job that always says, thats cause your lightskinned whenever I give him tude. Lol. But i know you were joking and I feel you on the "oh well" ness of it all. It gets old.

  • This video is very informative; I'm glad you shared. On another note, why do people always lable your opinions as bashing, I NEVER get that from watching your vids, i.e. review ones. I just walk away feeling informed, like hmmm never thought of that, or that's good to know. But even with that said, I know what I like and know its my responsibility to research everything. Sad that the internet sometimes translates to get on soapbox.

  • @Chrissy4281 It's 'cause I'm light skinned. Lol - okay, yea, I'm totally kidding and full of it with that statement but watch, someone will try to come for me for that one too. Seriously, I don't know...if that's what they want to do, meh.

  • Con't.....Uncovering a companies suppliers won't rattle the entire masses and people will continue to purchase from companies they love and trust. Everyone else will explore mixing stuff up on their own......shrugs :) Sorry for the loooong response...

  • con't.......in lab terminolgy. I can't speak for all companies and I'm sure some are not 100 but many are. Ingredients cost, formulations cost, labeling cost, advertising cost, websites cost, packaging cost, time costs, office overhead costs, staff costs, thats just business in general. I enjoy small organic companies, most often when they start to mass produce the integity of the product is sometimes at risk. Most folks dont't have time to make their own products nor do they care too.......

  • Con't......companies. Also you don't need to be a chemist to formulate products. Its requires research, trail/error, testing, involving measurements/formulas. If its a natural product line high level chemicals are hardly involved. Most are misinformed regarding ingredients and think that just because they can't pronounce it, its a bad chemical. Ex: Tocopheryl Acetate?? =Vitamin E or Certearyl Alcohol. Its not a bad alcohol is a thickening agent. But new misformed naturals are not educated...

  • @JazzyNappBeauty ...(cont) Furthermore, if you check out the links I posted, these companies are selling bases that are mostly natural - they aren't filled with tons of "bad" chemicals. I didn't even make this video to blow up anyone's spot, which is why I did not "bash" anyone for using bases in the video. I just wanted to make people aware that they can buy their own and share my favorite DC. It's not always about "rattling" the masses. People will buy what they want.

  • So are you implying that companies are selling just the base as a final product? Bases alone are way to basic for picky natural heads and need to be re-created and formulated for a desired product. This changes the stability of the base itself and has to be emulsified again. When companies are adding 20 natural ingredients to a basic base, plus fragrance, new stability ingredients, packaging, labels, etc its hardly fair to claim foul play. A base is just one ingredient of many for most small....

  • @JazzyNappBeauty For such a long response, honestly, it doesn't seem like you listened to what I said. First off, I only said it's foul if they say they made a product from scratch, but really used a base and added 1-2 ingredients. Anything else - I'm not talking about. Second, yes, there are several companies that will use a base and only add fragrance or a couple of oils. The DC I love I found b/c I Googled the ingreds list from a company and found they used this and ONLY added fragrance...

  • You're the bomb for sharing this info. I like to mix up products and essential oils can smell too much like medicine. Thanks!

  • Thanks sweetie! Iggy is looking FAAABBULOUSSSS!!

  • I had no idea companies did this, thanks for the info. Love your channel!

  • Watching one of your old videos, you liked the hairveda gelly, yes?

Have you seen the AloeThix from lotioncrafter, it's the base used for the jelly, basically enhanced aloe vera juice with a thickener. It's thicker than even your average aloe vera gel.

:S Just letting you know in case you want to buy some...and review it >.> lol

  • @TikiTubeable I've stared at that base soooo many times but the glycerin in it keeps me from buying it in a large batch. Our dews out here just dropped drastically - to the 30s, so I'm going to have to put away my glycerin products.

  • @denimpixie Just buy it.

Buy a small amount, review that ish.

Let us know about the hold, the moisture, the crunch or lack of it, what it compares to, the rinse-out factor (meaning does it rinse out completely like KCCC), etc etc.

    JUST BUY IT.

  • thanks for this vid Elle... fantastic info. I wish I lived in the states to be able to take advantage more easily

  • Lol @ yea this is the bomb

  • I make my own soap and I've noticed on soapmaking suppliers' sites they offer these bases for everything: solid soap, liquid soap, lotions, shampoos; conditioners etc... I'd been thinking about a bulk base conditioner for my hair--cause buying Giovanni conditioner at 250 ml and 12 euro a pop, is killing me! Thanks for the review!

  • How do you know who uses a base and who doesn't???

  • @kitabare76 You have to research! If you google an ingredients list and it's a base, a lot of the time the site with the base will show up.

  • Your hair has grown so much!! It hangs a lot more. Gorgeous hair!

  • Cool and informative. Thanks for sharing! Happy Holidays and be blessed.

  • Thanks for this information, really informative video!

  • Wow your hair is so long now! Please do an updated tut!!

  • I swear, you hair seems noticeably longer from the last video...maybe it's just me tho lol. Anywho, I'm listening to the topic at hand, but I can't help but side eye your hair with envy lmao!

  • You are the Bomb.com!!! This was very informative! I am definitely going to check out these sites ( and order something of course) lol

  • Your necklace is CUTE. *continues watching vid*

  • Elle I ordered the organic base... and upon trying to order some fragrance it said I had to spend $30 in order to get free shipping (lame). Is there any other place that you recommend getting fragrance from, that is safe to use on your hair (preferably not online)? I love trying new hair stuff but these shipping prices are killin me...

  • @ladyk8559 I've never seen them in the store, although you could use a few drops of an essential oil from Whole Foods or something like that. When I bought mine, I got some other stuff too so it was $30 - there are other places though I'm sure. Some came up when I Googled "Fragrance oil" last time I was shopping.

  • Great video

  • thanks for sharing and educating us about what a base is and letting us know we can add our own touch to what we like the most..thanks again

  • omg what styler did you use in this video? you're hair looks beautiful!!!!!

  • Thank you for this valuable information. You just saved my family alot of money.

  • Ok, I'm not a mixtress or a great cook, :), the base you're discussing, can it be used without adding anything to it, as is when received from the supplier? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but hey, the only stupid question is.........

  • @0708runner Yes, you don't have to add anything to it if you don't want to. I just add fragrance.

  • Lol... You are so funny. "Elle whats a base? " :-P

  • Ok you your personality and your hair is just beautiful. <3 it.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • I saw you say this on facebook and I sure wanted to ask that too but I figured I wouldn't since you said you were doing a video. lol

  • your hair has GROWN!!

  • wow! that was so eye-opening! thank you

  • Thanks for sharing. Very informative. I was one of those annoying people wondering "what's a base?".

  • @BlackLotusMom LOL you knew I was gonna come back and tell you! ;)

  • Dang I need to be mixing my own conditioners. Thanks for this info! I will be checking out the sites mentioned.

  • Omg! I'm so glad u did this vid. I have been looking for a deep conditioner for some time now. I'm all over it. Just purchased the conditioner and some fragrance oils. Thanks for the tip on wholesale supplies plus, shipping is free if u spend $30 and u know I did. Izzy is the bomb.com BTW.

  • Okay! I try to learn something new every day, and I just did with the base discussion. I had NO idea; in a few minutes, I am going to check some of my products because I would swear that they have the base in them. And you are right: charging all of that extra money is BS, especially if I can add some stuff (oils, glycerin, etc.) that I bought myself. Thanks for the tips!

  • Bless you, Elle, for giving us the 411. I like the idea of creating your own Dc with fragrance oil. Let the creative spirit out for the holidays. My mind is really turning fast right now. Do you keep this Deep Conditioning Creme refrigerated of the one added with fragrance oil? Sharing is caring.

  • @lifejourney2bnatural Yep, I keep my other one in the fridge. I don't think I have to but I put my reserves in the fridge all the time.

  • Have you used this product as a leave in too?

  • @corkscrewakia Yep, love it. I can use it alone.

  • @denimpixie Thanks my decision is confirmed!! I'll place my order on this base for sure. Its a no brainer. Thanks Elle!

  • I am so glad you put light to this. I make my own products and have been making soap for years and years. I was thinking of going to market soon but I ran into these "bases" and I thought, WOW anyone can do this. Thank you for showing the difference.

  • great video.. I was been looking for a bulk type conditioner. I am back overseas and i just cant take tons of products. I need something that can be used for a few things...... leave in, detangler, and deep conditioner. Im going to have to order this asap... Thanks for sharing

  • Its winter time where I live & I've started seeing thinning around my hairline. What products could you reccommend?

  • Elle, do you know if this product will go bad or has expiration to use up within a certain time? I'm considering buying the 7 lb but I dont want it to go bad on me. Thanks.

  • @corkscrewakia Check to see if it has a preservative in it. If it does not you can order one and add it at the recommended dosage.

  • @corkscrewakia I'm not sure about the expiration date - I'd email the company for that. I contacted them about a discount before and they were responsive.

  • Isn't the whole point of a business to make money? What's wrong with marking up the price on bases? I do agree that it's wrong to claim a base is handmade though.

  • I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS GOING ON! I knew these companies were doing something fishy, but NOW I know...ooooh!!! THANK YOU for this video!!!!!

  • You friggin rock! My whole world is open!! Thanks for the tips!!

  • great info, yep, i remember the whole bases "scandal", well exaggerating a bit, i did try a couple from some websites in Europe. Hair looking lovely!

  • Had no idea which sites to go to for bases. I've been wanting to create my own scents for things for a while, but wasn't sure where to start. So glad you made this video. (Also, you hair looks awesome!)

  • I learned something new thanks !

  • I had to watch the video again cause the 1st time I was too busy saying "OMG, I love your hair! " lol

  • Thanks for this information! Your reviews feel really honest. I appreciate your candidness. Btw, Izzy is looking fab!

  • Hairveda says their stuff is "hand made" It really doesnt matter to me though. Yeah maybe i could mix it myself for cheaper prices but it's so much easier to just point and click.

  • Does that organicals creme have a brand that is using it? or did you just buy it on the whim from the website?

Also what sort of packaging does that website use?

I ask becuase you have it in another jar, so I am wodering does it come in a bag..?

  • @TikiTubeable Actually, you are dead on! There is a company called Margarita Bloom that uses this base and they charge like $20+ for 8oz and I got 30oz for $17. All of my stuff has come in jars or bottles, I know some companies put butters in bags but I haven't ordered any of those yet. Hey, and thanks for leaving a "real" comment, lol.

  • Wow! I never knew this stuff existed. Can't wait to order a couple products. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • If you love this Organicals Deep Conditioning Creme so much ...why is it not on you Holy Grail list???

  • @0kitten00 um...it is.

  • @denimpixie ....oohhhh, Please forgive me..I didn't see the updated list...Yeah!! Will be getting me some to try...for sure... I will be so excited when my hair gets to length of yours... U keep me from cutting mine....every time I get the urge there is You, jcokes7,Naptural85, and KinkyKurlyQueen...I am so glad to have all of you to gleam from.....Thank you so much!!!

  • I wish that I could try that conditioner but the glycerin scares me...the dew point in MS is always too high :/

  • Your hair is the bomb!

  • Thanks doll I've been looking for a good deeptreatment that I can tweak to my liking. because I can never find anything that I really like . Thanks alot
