Beautiful. Used to be chanted at the grave site when interring the body. Still in use in the pre-Vatican II Latin rite where that can be found, not so in the new rite. Too bad.

Actually this is sung as the body is being moved off of the Catafalque and out of church towards the gravesite. It was traditionally sung at a Tridentine Requiem Mass and still is today in a traditional Requiem Mass.

MrDevin, incorrect! Very incorrect. It's in the 1962 Missal that is used by Catholics that attend the Tridentine rite which is accepted. It is also used by some the Solesmnes Benedictines
