I think that "hot swappable" means that you don't even need to open a back cover to reach memory card.

@ATOMICMENTHOL actually it means you don't have to turn off the phone. that's the point. to be hot swappable, the phone should be able to handle removal and installation of card while still switched on. this is where the software has to be optimized
