Thinking about what I would do in this case, running my cursor over similar areas and focusing, as if it might help something.. It's less macabre than it sounds
After seeing all those news about the japanese reactor crysis today I had to think of this specific mission in Sim City... They should let us old-school-Sim-City-players handle the situation!
Just kidding... god bless all of Japan and lets hope for the best!
Although their wasn't a radiation contamination, there was an oil spill. And to clean it up, they had to isolate and close off beaches. Also, toilet flushes? Sounds like the company making excuses. Just like Tony Hayward trying to avoid responsibility. So they are both related to energy companies, both caused mass contamination, and both happened in 2010. So, in a way, they predicted the BP oil spill.
I would've deleted the crazy roadways. Those suck you dry!
I once looked over my friend's city, and he was losing money every year. Went over and deleted all the unnecessary roads, and the next year his city turned a profit!
Interestingly enough, the opposite is true in Civilization, where roads actually MAKE you money!
3 month after... lol anyway i already tried many year ago to destroy all 3 but i dont have enough time to destroy the third 1 only 2 =( i tried alot of time.
This is true, as I have done it. Can be tricky though. Not sure if it's worth it though, the city is a pain in the ass even if you save it from the radiation.
3rd Moon - Meltdown. Quite fitting to this scenaro eh? I realised after upping this I typoed the music info at the end and put meltown. :-S I can send it you if you can't find it on the net. Cheers
I FOUND ANOTHER CHEAT! Build 3 nukes on the little island on the top of the map while holding r (u MUST hold it at the VERY beginning) then one on the island will melt down, and not do too much damage.
I think it is meant to explode. That is part of the scenario. It is all about isolating the fall out and rebuilding on land that has not been affected by the meltdown. ;-)
I like to have unlimited money and build nuclear power plants everywhere, let 1 explode, but before the disaster is reported, saving the game with the nuclear, then load it and cause more and more nuclear to spread until it's all over the city. I also bulldozed and cleared enough land for a nuclear meltdown to occur, but without the nuclear engulfing any zones or roads or anything. A nuclear meltdown with no effect on the city, but the fire. I never saved a city with fire still burning before.
I had one once, I am not sure what you have to do to make it happen though. It was ages ago, but from what I remember the plant was in the corner of the map and the fall out was not as bad as in the Boston scenario.
That is correct and I will add it up once I have done the other four. It is a UFO attack on Las Vegas. From what I remember you have to rebuild and get the city up to megalopolis level. I was like 10 when I last played this game. But I will complete the next 4 and then post the Las Vegas one. ;-)
This scenario is definatly one of the easier ones. But I agree, there was little room to expand. Most of what little open land there is, is not good enough for residential zones.
Indeed this scenario was one of the easier ones. This was the only one I actually managed to complete and I heard rumours there was a mega hard UFO scenario if you could beat the six orignal ones
I remeber playing this years ago! It was always good fun bulldozing the whole of the right hand side of the map. rebuliding the city was mega frustrating tho.
i wanted to watch you play the game there is absolutley no need for the music

Hold L from the beginning. Bulldoze the three power plants, then wait a game-month. Put them back and continue - no meltdown.

Is it possible to even get a nuclear disaster on a normal map?
alexbleks 3 years ago
yep, but it's EXTREMELY rare. if you get the "brownouts" warning a lot with a whole lot of nuke plants, brace youself for a meltdown.

Yup, the UFO scenario is real. And if you beat that, you unlock free city. Also, i way overworked all my nuke plants for wyay too long, no meltdown
