I love this band! I was 16 years old when I first heard this song, they had just released the record. This brings me back to good memories, I've been looking for this for a long time. Thank you very much for posting!
@JBM190 well, the guitarist, who is my brother, is back in rugby, fishing and playing his banjo!! and listening to davy graham and the incredible string band if i know him...:)
ahhh the early nineties...I am so glad I was part of it all back then..much better than the shite that is out there today. Most bands todays would give their left arm if they could even wright one song like this...and these guys couldnt make a go of it...too bad
I was outside...a late warm summer night before I left for college. I was at one of the last "highschool" parties with some of my dearest friends and out in the distance this song was playing. I remember it like it was yesterday. So profound and beautiful and had the juice of ageless memories.
I like your "song playing out in the distance like it was yesterday" type memory. I have those too, from outdoor parties ten years earlier, tho.
I first heard this one on local college radio and made a note about it in my personal Feb, '91 journal: "smooth, airy tune, great exercise in non-stop, well-disciplined guitar playing."
Yes,yes, yes I remember them now.I've been searchin this for ages but get getting fuckin Darkness videos and that tool of a lead singer of theirs when I searched for them.
This album "All That Noise" beats the Spiritualized album from about the same time,1989/90 or so. And this isn't the best version of this song. I'd say the album version is way better!
awesome tune off an awesome album (All that noise.Beggars Banquet) by a band unfortunatly no one ever heard of. way ahead of their time then, and obviously still are today!!
Ace song by one of my alltime favourite bands - love you THE DARKSIDE - Pete Bassman et al where are you now gents when we need you? PS: Nice clip, too
dankeschön

Where are they all now? I have their albums and they have a distinctive sound - come on, one more gig for old time's sake…

Pete has a new band called The Urgz, they just recorded an album, still in the sorta droney-fuzzy-space-rock vein but also amazing.
