  • I need help! I'm on a 2011 macbook air with Lion trying to install tiny7 but no luck! After it reboots twice, it boots into windows to install some tiny7 stuff in the windows terminal.

But after that (even if i don't let it install them), it won't boot again! It gets stuck in a black screen with a flashing cursor.

I've tried everything they said at the macrumors topic "Tiny7 & Boot Camp" (can't post a link in here, search it with google), but nothing works.

I'd really appreciate your help genie

  • @orfetheo As far as i know is that every version of OS X gets a new version of bootcamp. and as said in the manuel above in the description is that i do not know how it will work with a newer version ( I myself am still using a macbook pro with OS X 10.6 ). go to this link (please replace the dot with . ) forums.macrumorsdotcom/showthreaddotphp?t=1207436

  • @orfetheo by the way try to hold option on start up

  • Not really that faster than real 7.

only for like 30-20 MB of ram

  • @Preseka666 How much ram do you have?

  • well it is little different from windows 7

  • i love this tinyos!!! im using it to post this comment

  • @computergenie It is faster if you use VirtualBox.

  • for tiny7 rev01? 2,7 GB almost the small as a full windows xp Home SP2 installation

  • How many gb hdd are you using???

    Please answer

  • i installed tiny 7 rev02 on a compaq evo d300v with an 80gb hd, 512mb ram, pny geforce 8400 with 512mb vram, 1.3ghz celeron and a dvd rom drive. works incredibly well.

  • can you help mee? i installed this on my laptop and i cant connect to the internet nor can i set up a network or whatever. an error keeps coming up =\

  • I hate torrents.

there so slow !!somebody pls upload it to MU

  • In VPC is Tiny 7 really slow but on a real pc it is fast

  • I had a problem with my x58 Classified motherboard, I had 12Gb installed but only 9.99GB was usable. The problem was fixed in msconfig

Go to windows 7 Start menu then type msconfig then go to boot>Advanced options then uncheck Number of processors & Maximum memory then Restart your pc & see if it changes.

It worked for me & now I have the full 12gb working At Last :) I've been trying to sort this out for 3 months & only fixed it today

    Hope that helps Cheers Colin.

  • @marnixkohler17

I got about better 3~9 FPS jump in games

  • and now show TINY 7 this looks like full version to me. tiny xp was a lot faster than normal XP

  • Don't install updates cuz if the an genuine advantage update inside then your full computer gets messed up

  • @computergenie1 I have it installed onto my Acer Aspire One netbook. It came in. I just downloaded RemoveWAT and it fixed the problem

  • marnixkohler 17

tiny7 is goot for games but tinyvista not and if you have 256 RAM then you can better install the full XP or tinyXP (rev09)

  • I tried it , and yeah it is really fast.

I got about 3~9 FPS jump in games. Moreover , this version installed in 11mins (i calculated from the black screen where we see "copying files" prior to actual setup). But still , there are some bugs for eg , updates dont work...

  • Will all of the themes and stuff work? and what would you say the minimum system specs are for this to run reasonably well? I had full windows 7 but it wasnt as fast as linux mint on my p4 2ghz, 1.5gb ram, 512mb ati radeon 2600 pro BUT I NEED my gaming fix AND I want the looks of windows 7 so yeah

  • @lorddresefer Minimum requirements are as follows:

    256mb ram + p3 1Ghz + aero compatible card (if u want aero)

It will be almost as fast as xp on your system. And yeah , themes will work well with this version

  • its cuz ur pc's bad

  • and with linux it runs fine so thats what i use...

  • Win Tiny7 have transparency?

  • yes if your GFX Card supports it if not you have to enable it yourself

  • @ChaomPR Yeah it has

  • i got this and it is working fineBUT i always get a prob (msdt.exe is not available)or when i type some thing in the search bar in the start menu i get the error code "class not registered"

and also i do't have any version of windows media player and found only a single website which has wmp 12 for tiny7 ,i went there and he told me to add the folder to C:\program files and add a dll file to windows but it didn't work.even the dll files can't be registered and windows says it's not activated.

  • yeh i have same problem also for the windows media player thing tryed to do same thing install wmp 12 and then 11 but both failed i just use vlc player to play .wma now

  • @casire The Thing Is I Cannot Play Web Strams That Need WMP

  • i am gonna test it on 2 pcs at the same time today

  • Running Tiny7 on my Compaq Evo N600c Laptop w/ 256mb RAM and a 20gb partition. If you get your settings right it runs pretty good on 256.

  • yes it works fine but maybe the maker can set back the gadgets

  • Tiny7 running on my HP G60 laptop, absolutely love it. Great vid!
