I partied with these guys in Athens,Ga,and they all came to my house one night in Duluth,Ga.Boo Rocked and was as cool as everybody says.A real "BRYCE" !!! I knew a good friend of Boo's,Dave Powell.Dave phone home(Wally Gator).Get in touch "BRYCE".Love ya brother.God Bless you BOO.RIP Dave,A Born Again Powell
wow I am so blown away.... I did not know that David had died... I knew him from when I workewd in radio and they were promoting the album... personally I think he died of a broken heart due to the vampires and music whores that bled them dry..
they could have gotten somewhere if they had been given some direction
@carmen41 Weeell if you say so, thats the way it is, even though you offer no arguments for that statement.
Ok I know he didnt die from drugs now, but "broke heart"? Seriously? Do you have like the biggest god-complex in the world? Glorifying and making people heroes in your head isnt gonna take you anywhere ...
@Ekyvvsaq I happen to know personally how they were taken advantage of..... I worked in radio when they were promoting themselves... like I said before .. they only needed a break which was not given to them.
@matphat: I neglected to mention that Rich Parrish has also passed on. I don't remember exactly when it was, but I think it was sometime in the spring of 2010. I don't remember the details of it, he had been ill for sometime apparently.
@matphat: Yes, I am sorry to confirm for you that Boo died in his sleep some years ago in his hometown of Charlotte, NC.The official cause of death was "natural causes".
Saw these guys live in Nashville several times. Talked to the guys on several evenings after shows. They were my crews favorite band at the time. I had "Offering" when I moved away and listened to it on the beach every day. Transformational years for me. Animal Bag's music was like a sound track for that time. Thanks guys for your music. R.I.P. Boo.
@rikkisogazgf Dude! I was at that same show at Back stage. That was awesome! My sister and I got to meet Luke just before the show. He was so cool and gorgeous! So sad what has happened since.
@AsurorusA I assume you mean early Mike Patton era Faith No More (since Chuck Mosley was the previous singer and didn't sound like Luke), but it's funny you say that because I always thought the first Animal Bag album kind of sounded like Real Thing era Faith No More mixed with Facelift era Alice In Chains, with some stoner hippy shit thrown in for good measure.
Just so everybody knows, I didn't remove my last comment because it was anything bad...I didn't think my first comment had gone through and then re-posted something very similar, only to realize my first comment had gone through after all. So I removed the second one so as to not sound redundant. Thanks!
@3rockergirl333 can someone get some other song from this album on here? any song will do because every song on this album is freaking amazing. One of the few albums without a bad or even average song. This album is amazing!
@3rockergirl333 i love that show as well...lol...i think i may be the only person who went and bought the dvd of the one and only season the show had...lol but yeah I really like this song too!
i know luke edwards still to this day he is a great person he was in a band called tater for a while 10 years to be exact but he has a band now they are called travelin circus he was good back then and still rips to this day
I've been on a big kick with these guys for the first time in like, ten years (because I only owned their first two albums on tape from way back when, but recently found all three albums online), and just found out today about Rich Parris passing away. That sucks so bad, but I'm glad to see others here have posted here about it. Animal Bag really was pretty fucking awesome.
Amazing underrated band... Rich Parris was an amazing songwriter, singer, guitarist, & friend... He is amongst the stars in the sky now... Shine on my friend.
Ive been jamming to these guys all day! Hello Cosmo...Mirrored Shades..Personal Demons-so many great tunes. Used to see them live all the time back in the day...still have the bumper sticker on my ratted out guitar case! RIP Rich...
Too bad more people don't know about Animal Bag...I always thought they had a pretty unique sound. Kind of like heavy metal for hippies. Their unreleased third album (Image Damage) was pretty damn good as well.
Awesome, I bought my first Tater cd from the Shelby arts Council. Please tell Luke,Roger and the rest of the boys to keep it up, I am a Taterhead 4-life !!!
I am from Charlotte NC ( where they came from) and by far they ruled while they were there. Boo was one of the nicest, most genuine people you could have ever wanted to meet.. rest in peace Boo.
Its funny how everyone always 'blames" Nirvana for another band not making it over the hump... Give me a break.. The industry is a crap shoot. Even funnier is how AFTER Nirvana 'hit the big time', all bands changed to fit this new model known as "Grunge". Animal Bag did it. Don't get me wrong, I like AB but they did change after the whole Seattle scene became the rage. They were good but just a little to late. Again, its the industry.. Total crap shoot.
If it werent for asswipes like "Nirvana" & all those other pussy bands then AB would've hit the big time & beyond.Fucking record companies! The way they lead people around by their assholes is understandable.People let them tell them what to listen to.
.. in the late 90's, otis & i did a lil side project that had keith inman & myself on gtr, otis on bass, aaron willis vox'ing & tim lail on drumz. recorded some tracks but only one made it to mix. the track is called "P.I.N." & i'm trying to get it mastered, but, might just let it roll 'as is' , but, it should be @ my ytube & mspace pages soon for downloading soon for anyone whom might be interested in that.
They are still touring, check out tater for their schedule. Their best song was HELLO COSMO. What a crystal clear voice Luke has! They have not faded, they are touring all over the place.
